She must be so proud. I have lost a whole wardrobe after taking off 65 pounds and feel great. I would have to say congrats to Jill. It’s hard work to lose all that weight but I know in the end it feels so good.

  2. My goal is to lose 50 by age 50 so I have 7 months to go. I am a tid bit older than Jill but I know I can do it. I have 42 stubborn pounds to ditch and it’s been really hard so far. I have to watch all portions which is just not that easy. BUT it’s working. Nice to see real people tell there stories. Maybe in 7 months I will have one to tell.
    Great site here:

    • Good luck Rita!! I am rooting you on! Jill has been inspiring so many and I am so happy that you found her story one that you could relate too! Keep me posted!

I just read Laura’s story. I hope maybe at the very end of my long road ahead I can share my story with you. I have far to go but I am going to do it in 2011.
Both of these stories are very inspiring. Thank you so much for the motivation.

    • Hi Nicloe,
Go for it… To help you hold yourself accountable, you might want to read The Happiness Project. It is what I am going to use to try to keep my news years resolution!
The best of luck to you.. so many women have been inspired by this story, maybe you will be the next one to inspire others too!!!

I saw this on Face book. This lady does not look a day of 25. I sure hope I look as good as she does at 40. I am so overweight and tried all the time. I am hoping taking some of this weight off will help my energy level.
Thank you for sharing her story. Eye opener. Most people have to have surgery to get that much weight off. I have consisered it many time but am hoping I don’t have to do that.
I probably should get tested for diabetes. I have a few symptoms just mild. I get fearful I do have it. That is mostly why I don’t get tested.

  7. What a great Birthday gift to herself. She does not look her age. I really enjoyed the interview. Thanks for the input on Type 2 diabetes. It’s hard to focus on loosing weight. I have so much to loose I give up way to easily. I will try harder.

  8. I found this link on Don’t Gel to soon which site I visit often.

WOW!! This woman looks amazing. That is so wonderful that she ran in a pageant after losing 100 pounds.
She looks so good. I am sharing this with everyone I know.

  9. Amazing! Such wonderful insight message.

  10. Kudos to you Jill, you look amazing!

  11. I found this on Facebook. Great site for woman over 40.
I have done 2 beauty pageants at age 48 and feel blessed that I did them. I think it is great that this lady did them because she wants to share her message. They do inspire you to meet your goals.

    • Hi Toby,
Welcome!! I’m so glad that you’ve spoken up. I have so many women that feel fit and beautiful that would love to model. Thanks for sharing that you had fun entering pageants. They certainly can be a fun way, to get to perform and as you mentioned “meet your goals”!
      Cheers! Deborah

I had gestational diabetes with all 4 of my pregnancy’s I feel so lucky it did not follow me. She looks great and think it’s wonderful she is out their in her community spreading her message!

  13. Great site! Very Informitive for those of us living with diabetes. If you can do it so can I. Thank you for sharing your message.

  14. Maybe some of her motivation can where off on me.
I am a diabetic and every time I see my Dr. He get’s on my case about losing the weight. Loved her story.

I saw this site on my friends FaceBook page.

  15. Crystal says:

Great Body! You can tell she worked hard for it. I know once I hit 35 it got harder to get in shape.

  16. I added your site and Get Up and Get Moving site to our new’s letter for June. I am a nutritionist in Virginia and love when after a trial as hers was she shares from what she went through. Diabetics need real life people to hear about so they know they have the power to change.

I can write out food plans all day but it’s not until the person starts to believe in the fact that they can change will my food plans be effective.

    Great Message!

  17. Thank you so much for all of your comments. My soul is so touched and I have had to wipe my eyes many times while reading them. Yesterday I had such a busy day but got a few text from friends saying I had to check out all of the comments.

You all can do anything you want in your life. You just have to put your mind to it!! Be strong and make your goals happen what ever they may be. It took getting a health problem for me to wake up and start realizing it’s not until I start giving to my self by getting my health under control that I can give to others.

It’s my hope that other woman won’t have to get a health problem to start taking ME time. You can’t give away what you don’t have so today on MOTHER”S day go Take a bath, Read, Relax, and enjoy your family and tomorrow wake up and set some new goals. Learn something new, Start a new class, Start to exercise, Get out of your comfort zone and grow and stretch.

Again, Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I feel so blessed that so many of you wrote in and I once again blessed to share my message.

    Sincerely, Jill Knapp

I noticed she did 6 small meals a day. I have Diabetes and that is what my Dr just put me on 2 weeks ago. It’s working. Thank you for puting her message on your site. I needed this message. Real people making changes. She is not some celebrity that has had a cook, trainer and a life coach. I read her story and was amazed she did this on her own.
