Can you wear head to toe, Talbots?
Last week, I (JoJami) was off to St. Michaels, Maryland with a girlfriend to do a little shopping.
While we were there, we decided to pop over to The Inn at Perry Cabin and check out their new Spa facilities, called the Linden Spa.
While it was obvious that they were still getting the pool all spuced up for summer, their “Botanicl Art of Wellness” center was crisp, clean and ready for business!
It was so pretty and smelled oh, so good, that we were tempted to ditch our shopping trip and book an appointment on the spot!
While checking out the facility, I spotted a woman looking so proffesional and polished that I had to stop her and ask her about her outfit. It turns out she is the Inn’s, Event Planner.
“You won’t believe it, but I’m head to toe, Talbots!” Even my purse and shoes are from there!”
I was certainly impressed that her look was so stylish and effortless from all one store! Moreover, the Inn should be happy to have such a well dressed, Event planner, that looks the part and would make anyone at ease with her polished appearance!
Talbots has been trying to update their image and reach out to a younger crowd and from the looks of things, they are doing a great job of it!

There’s been a lot of Talbot-bashing lately. I wonder if some critics even bother to visit.
In my view they do a pretty good job for the older woman still interested in fashion – skirts long enough, current silhouettes and colors. There are so few brands which do cater to this (my) market – I hope they don’t go all cute and trendy.
Hi Cherry,
Yes, we have seen some of the new things they plan on carrying and I think you will not be disappointed. They are trying to update but still be classy!
I find the opposite of the PP…I have heard Talbots praised across the board lately. I follow many blogs, boards, etc. online and have been really surprised at some of the hippest people online talking up Talbots. Whoever runs their social media department is genius because they are doing a great job of changing their image IMO. I am someone who would NEVER set foot in there (that’s where my ultra conservative mother shops!) and now I plan to check it out.
Hi Jaimee, Yes, you are right, they are updating their inventory and “look”. I was just in there with a client last week, who was looking for pants and is hard to fit. They had a great selection of pants and I love their sidezip version! Also, while I find most stores these days carry so much grey and black, Talbots has lots of choices of color! (and you know how we feel it is so important to add color to your wardrobe!!!!) Cheers, JoJami
i’m 39 and i wear talbots a lot. they have plenty of nice things that don’t look frumpy or matronly
Hi Nina,
We have found Talbots to have really step up their game lately. They are def. looking to get the younger customer and we are seeing more and more things we like. Their accessories are also fun. However, one thing, you have to be careful when shopping there, some of their tops (especially those with short sleeves) can look matronly.
