Did you watch the royal wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton?
I was glued to the TV drinking tea, munching on scones and jam and oohing and ahhing over Kate Middleton’s stunning lace wedding gown, but we were also watching for what Carole Middleton as Mother of the Bride wore.
I was so excited to see how very chic and understated she looked on this very proud day, don’t you think?
When it comes to Dressing as Mother of the Bride (or groom) it can be easy to overdress or underdress, or to get the jewelry, shoes, or accessories, not quite right.
But Carole pulled it off beautifully choosing to wear a soft blue, almost silver-gray silk Shantung day dress with a matching fitted wool crepe coat dress by British designer Catherine Walker (the woman who designed many of Princess Diana’s beautiful outfits).
Carole accessorized her outfit with a matching hat by Berkshire-based milliner Jane Corbett, pale grey suede pumps and gray bag and a small diamond necklace. No dowdy Mother of the Bride looks here!
Just pure elegance and class, exactly how you want to look on one of the most important days of your life. Bravo Carole!
