My secret relaxing tool…

Having surgery can be a scary waiting game, find out how I got help...

A few months ago I (JoJami) had an elective procedure done, nothing major but I was very nervous about having surery because it was my first time going under anesthesia.

Once I actually booked the procedure, the waiting game was terrible. The worst part was at night…all the thinking and doubting (monkey mind!) was so strong that it was disrupting my sleep.

Well, I definitely did not want to feel so much stress, so I did a litte research and read about a tool that claimed to be able to reduce this type of anxiety and there was no medicine involved!

I found that there were these special CDs from Dr. Ginandes (only $69), and so I purchased them. Once they arrived I tried them out right away. The first night, I popped the CD’s in my computer (later I downloaded them to my i-pod) and once I started listening I began to feel peaceful and soon drifted off to sleep! I kept this up every night and I can tell you, I was so glad to have them!

Then, when the big day came, I took my CDs with me to calm my nerves while in the waiting room. I was so thankful to be able to bring the CDs along – it was wonderful to be able to feel peaceful and calm during that time!

Afterwards, I listed to the final session at home, hoping for faster healing. The best part was, that I used the tapes to relax me and did not have to take any of the pain medicine. Moreover,  I healed very quickly and was back to work in no time at all!

So  looking back, I am now so happy I had surgery and that, and the CDs made the whole experience so much better.  I think that anyone considering any type of surgery or even dental work, should at least try them. These CD’s are such a great holistic tool, to use, and definitely much better than any type of stress medication!

If anyone else has used these or any other similar tool, please comment below.  And by the way, you can find this program (only $69) at: The Hypnosis Network.

For full disclosure, because of my success with the program I have become friendly with the folks at the company.  If you have been a reader of this site, you know we do promote a few products and get compensated.  If this bothers you, simply Google it and  we will get no compensation.

As you know, we stand behind the products we share with you, and I was so thrilled with the effects of  listening to these tapes, that I highly recommend them.

Jane Fonda’s Cosmetic Surgery confession

Never say never!

Just when Jane Fonda said she would never get cosmetic surgery again, she sneaked in and did it. ..I guess it’s that new boyfriend she has!

You don’t see a lot of difference at first, until you look down at her neck. She looks pretty good!

You know our stand on all of this; it’s such a personal thing. There’s no right or wrong. It’s all up to how you  feel. We know some of you may disagree and that’s why we throw this post in. It makes for lively conversation.

We’d love to hear your views and experiences, pro and con. What do you think of Jane’s decision to have more cosmetic surgery at 72?

Is there anything wrong with wanting to be a “Glamorous Grandma”, as Jane calls it?

Full lips make you look younger

There’s a new study that says full lips make you look younger.

Makes sense…Just think of babies with their plump, round plump lips. Softer bigger lips are more youthful….but only to a point!

Your lips have got to match your face!

The problem is many women see their lips thinning and rush out and get lip fillers only to end up with “trout pout”…you know, those crazy lips that make you look like you’ve been sucking on a sour lemon and had an allergic reaction! Totally bizarre, unnatural and not youthful or attractive at all.

Just look at Nicole Kidman.
Daryl Hannah
Melanie Griffith
Cher

The list goes on… Can fillers like this ever work? Are we being unfair and just highlighting the bad cases?

If you’ve ever had your lips enhanced, let us know how they worked out. Did it work for you? Would you do it again?

Our feeling is, what’s so wrong with thinner lips? Just like, what’s wrong with smaller breasts? They’re beautiful and elegant. If you keep your lips moisturized and soft, use pretty lip glosses and soft lipstick shades, they’ll look beautiful.

This frenzy around having to have humongous breasts and lips the size of overinflated party balloons is actually gross. It’s bound to pass in a few years, and then we’ll all be looking back and laughing at how trashy and cartoon-ish women looked.

Bigger is not always better. Subtlety and elegance is the key to looking fabulous in Chapter 2 of life.

Meg Ryan’s director says cosmetic surgery o.k. by her

meg-ryan-picture-1The cosmetic surgery debate continues…..

There’s a good article over at Entertainment & Showbiz.com that says filmmaker Cheryl Hines, who directed Meg Ryan in “Serious Moonlight”, says she has no problem with older Hollywood stars getting cosmetic surgery. “If it makes you happy, do it. I don’t care. Whatever works,”  says Hines.

Now we’re putting that question to you……

How do you feel about cosmetic surgery?

Are you for it, or against it, and why?

Do you plan to have any cosmetic surgery in the future,  and if you already have, did it change your life in any way?

Do you think Meg has had any cosmetic surgery, and how do you think she looks?

Do you think all this talk about cosmetic surgery is nobody’s business?

We’d love to hear from you!

Madonna’s facelift

madonnaWe’re starting a regular feature about the world’s most Age-mazing™ women…. 40 +women who look stylish, vibrant and sexy – AMAZING FOR THEIR AGE.

This week we nominate Madonna. Although we’ve always enjoyed her music we’ve never been much of a fan of hers personally.

No doubt, she’s a smart and a savy businesswoman, but she has always seemed like a hypocrite; publishing a porn book and necking with Britanny Spears, and then writing sweet little children’s books and complaining to the world that her daughter’s jeans are too tight.

But, recently something happened that has made us like her a little bit more.

“Madge” has come out and said that she has had a facelift. Wow, is that refreshing to hear! It gets so tiring reading about stars who insist that cosmetic surgery, or even botox, is something they would personally never do, (usually because they ” hate needles”), yet they’ve obviously done something!

Madonna never went around spouting off that she’d never undergo cosmetic surgery. And when she did, she didn’t have to admit it to the world. It’s really no one’s business and she could have told asked anyone who asked, just that. Yet, she has freely admitted to having a facelift and added that she is quite pleased with the result. That took guts.

And, we must say she looks fantastic! She’s worked hard on keeping her body keeping super fit, but there’s really no exercises you can do to keep your face as toned too. Her facelift was subtle, and soft, and didn’t make her suddenly look like someone else. She had a good surgeon! For her cosmetic surgery was the right choice.

Madonna’s news is also a relief for women out there who honestly feel that cosmetic surgery is just not for them. Now, every time you look in the mirror you can rest a little easier and feel great knowing that Madonna has had a little help and you’re not aging so badly after all.

Considering Cosmetic Surgery?

Vanessa Williams is open about it, Jacqueline Bisset thinks it’s freakish and Jayne Seymour slams it, even though she’s admits she’s tried it herself.jane-seymour

What are we talking about? Cosmetic Surgery, of course.

It’s so in your face these days (so to speak) that who hasn’t thought about trying botox or even having a little nip or tuck?

But even though it would be nice to look as young as you feel, nobody wants to feel pressured to have cosmetic surgery just because everyone else is doing it.

And who wants to go through any pain or complications or, God forbid, end up looking like Joan Rivers.

To have it, or not have it. That is the question. How do you decide? What’s really involved in having cosmetic surgery? How safe is it, and are the thousands of doctors out there practicing really qualified to do it (or have they just taken a weekend course somewhere?)

There’s a new website called that can help you make up your mind. It’s called Be Wise about Beauty. It’s sponsored by The Cosmetic Surgery Foundation and gives you info on popular procedures, common misconceptions, and qualifications your doctor should have. There’s even a little Beauty Monitor Quiz you can take if you’re really on the fence.

Funny, but this whole cosmetic surgery debate, for or against, seems similar to the split women have when it comes to childbirth. Should you deliver “naturally” or have an epidural?

There’s no right answer. It’s a personal thing and it’s really up to you. No need to explain yourself to anyone. Just make sure that if you do choose to do it, you’ve researched it thoroughly and are realistic about the results.

Restylane for Plumping

In a recent survey conducted by a popular cosmetic surgery website in the U.K. about 38% of women wanted Restylane treatment as a gift from their loved one for Christmas.

Restylane is a cosmetic filling agent, made of hyaluronic acid (which is a natural component of the skin) and is used to plump up the skin.

Sounds good to us. If you want to do something about baggy skin try this first: PLUMP don’t PULL. Who wants a facelift if you don’t have to?Mrslowryplasticsurgery_1

Sun damage and the natural aging proccess causes us to lose collagen and our skin begins to line, sag and wrinke. Restylane will plump you up and give you a great result.

If you don’t want to go the Restylane route, you should be using a nightly anti-aging cream. As we age the skin is not able to hold water and gets dry and dehydrated. You can plump it up and rehydrate it with a good moisturizer.

Try using a good exfoliator first to increase cell removal. Then moisturize with a hydrating, firming cream.

And don’t forget to drink lots of water and take fish oil supplements which helps plump up the skin from the inside out!
