Why you are not losing that belly fat…

Are you having trouble loosing the muffin top?(Sponsored post)

After 40, many or should we say MOST of us have that belly pouch that just seems so darn annoying!

Trying to fit into clothes that we used to wear is now challenging!

If you want some help losing weight, please read the article below – it just might change your life.

Why You Are Not Losing Belly Fat…

If you are like most people with a weight problem,
you already know the answer. (Consuming more calories

than you burn). And you probably know exactly what you have to do in order to lose it. Are we right?  You probably have multiple books that
all work. Then why aren’t you doing it?

Most people will tell you that all you need is more,
”will power”, however they couldn’t be more wrong! Here is why…

According to the latest research*, ”will power” is a
limited resource. When you ”will” yourself to stay away from bad foods,
it takes away your ability to concentrate on even the
simplest of day to day activities.

For example, when subjects were told not to eat chocolate
chip cookies, their persistence in puzzle solving
deteriorated. And when they were told to suppress an
emotional reaction to a movie, they had problems solving
a simple anagram.

In short, any act of suppression is virtually unsustainable…

This is why once you start having to think about other stuff, it becomes almost impossible for you to stay away from the cookies, the burgers, the tacos, the beer, the chips, and the soda. Even worse, whatever habits you have developed around eating
lie deep in your unconscious mind. This dictates your ”default”
eating choices, and any changes to this using ”will power” are
met with massive resistance. And this is a battle you don’t want to fight, because the
unconscious mind always wins.

So if you want to get trim, you have to change your unconscious
”default” eating choices. It is the only real way to get results
that stick – and it is a whole lot easier…

How do you work with the unconscious mind, you ask?
Sometimes repetition works, and establishing rituals one at
a time can help…But the only method that is validated by current science and
mainstream organizations like The American Medical Association
is called medical hypnosis.

Hypnosis is basically the study of creating unconscious changes.
Over 80 years of clinical research have demonstrated that with
the aid of hypnosis, people are able to have control where they
had none before.

Get this; at the University of Iowa they are doing MRI studies where you actually see the brain shutting off feelings of pain in the brain. . . all under hypnosis. If hypnosis can teach you to block pain, it certainly can help you change your eating habits. But make sure you get the real thing. You don’t want help
from a ”stage hypnotist” – you want to find someone with a
proven clinical track record.  And finding somebody in
person with a proven track record for weight loss is
extremely difficult.

Over 50,000 people have now used this program, and the
satisfaction rate is 92%. This means that over 9 out of 10 people are able to change
their eating behaviors and get the slim body they deserve
using her hypnosis sessions.

The publisher provides you with a year to try the program,
and they even let you sample it for 28 days by just paying shipping.
So if you struggle with, ”will power” – then this program
is truly a, ”no brainer”.

Good luck!

P.S.

I , JoJami, have personally tried this and other of the Hypnosis Networks CD’s and found them to be a terrific tool! Feel free to ask us questions or comment below!

How can you get inspired to lose weight for Spring?

One of the biggest challenges in looking good in your clothes is getting our weight under control!

I (JoJami) got a call yesterday from a long time friend. We were catching up and she mentioned to me that she “had” to go shopping, since she had recently lost 4o pounds! She said,” You would be so proud of me, I went shopping yesterday and had so much fun because I felt like I could try on things that had some style to them for the first time in years!”

Yes! We agree that when you are fit you will have more self confidence and energy!

We shared with you a while back a few of our readers that have taken looking healthy and having more energy seriously!

One of our readers, Laura Eskstein, just wrote to us and said, “Hi, just wanted to let you know what I have been up too recently. I am having a great time in my 40′s.  I  have entered a few body competitions and won 1st place in my age division (0ver 40) went to Miami yesterday to film a video for youtube with Jennifer Nicole Lee (ab Circle) and she is using me in her new exercise infomercial!! Very exciting.  You never know what will happen in your 40′!!!!”

Laura you are rockin!! Talk about looking Fabulous After 40, thanks for sharing with us!!!

While Laura might seem like an extreme case and she has obviously put a lot of work into getting into shape, she is sure a great example of what you can do if you put your mind to it! There are many ways to get healthy, you just need to find one that fits your style!

After (1 year later)

After (Laura E. 1 year later)

Here are a few ideas:

  • Join a gym
  • Hypnosis tapes (JJ thinks these work great!)
  • Find a friend and get started!
  • Find a new way to exercise that you might enjoy (Zumba, hiking club, ballroom dancing!)

Beware… you might get inspired by this post!

This FAF reader is looking red hot at age 42! Read on to find out how...

Hi ladies,
I lost 23 lbs, four years ago and at 42 years old I am in the best shape of my life. I keep fit by eating a healthy diet consisting of lean protein, lots of veggies, whole wheat grains and nuts. On weekends I eat and drink whatever I want.

My quest for fitness started after reading a great book titled, Body for Life by Bill Phillips. It was then that I started eating healthy. and implementing an exercise program incorporating weight training for the first time in my life. Weight training is very important for us over 40 girls. It sculpts your body like nothing else, revs up metabolism and helps with bone density health.

My workout consists of weight training twice a week, kickboxing classes and gym or outdoor cardiovascular activity five times a week.

Thanks for a wonderful informative website, keep up the good work!
Sandy Roffe

Thanks Sandy, you have certainly inspired us, wow, your body looks absolutely terrific!!!

After reading your letter, I (JoJami) called a girlfriend and sent her your story and photo and she flipped. So now, we have a date to go to the gym on Thursday to start our first weight training workout. She has “the book” and did Fit for Life about 4 years ago with great results and is ready to get back on the program again! I do not need to loose weight, but I am looking forward to toning up and eating better!

I hope I can post a photo like yours one of these days!

Frustrated with your weight? Try hypnosis…

Dear Glam Gals,

Help! I want to lose weight so bad, but I am having a hard time getting started or sticking with it. I have cravings and they are just too much for me!

Thanks for all your great tips,

Sincerely,

Marcia G.

Dear Marcia,

We are not experts in weight loss, but have several different products and programs that we have recommended in the past.     hypnosis

However, this one is different and has had proven results! We met the owner of the Hypnosis Network, Michael Lovitch last year and have been testing his different CD products. We can sincerely say that we give them The Glam Gals seal of approval and that it is wonderful product as an “alternative” way to help you lose weight.

The most important part is that people just like you are finally losing weight and are having fun doing it:

“For three weeks, while listening to the CD every day, I have lost 14 pounds without any effort. And this is after many years of struggling with weight and trying a lot of different programs and weight loss pills. I am so happy, and I am sticking to my hypnosis CDs. I will continue listening to them every day and enjoying my weight loss! The best feature is that there are no dangerous side effects. The only side effect is a healthy lifestyle, and as a result, better health and better shape and appearance.”

If  you are over 40 want to look good in your clothes, the first thing you need to make sure is that you’re eating healthy.

We came across this list today, of the 10 top worst foods.

I (JoJami) was shocked to learn that, even though I think I’m a pretty healthy eater, I’ve been making some bad choices.

On the list was Progresso soup, which I do enjoy and  eat once in a while, and came to find out  is extremely high in salt

Worst of all,  my favorite night time snacks, buttered microwave popcorn, was on the “bad” list too.

SHOOT..I love buttered popcorn!

Now that I know this, I can start to try make better choices.

Let us know how you’re making better choices and if it’s worth it!

Slim People in Progress

Diet20appleWe came across a GREAT blog recently, to help those who are trying to lose weight and just need a little support.

Over at Slim People In Progress, you can be part of an inspiring group of people from all across the country who are dieting and exercising, while staying in touch via email.

Our friend Denise Wakeman and founder of The Blog Squad, just 2 years ago, found herself in her mid 40′s with about 30 pounds to loose. Knowing that she might really stick with it, she convinced a friend to do it with her and they both signed up for Weight Watchers!

Denise is a blogger in real life (www.buildabetterblog.com) and so started up Slim People in Progress, to document and help inspire others like herself to share tips, trials and successes.

Scale She says that the site has helped her stay motivated and loved hearing other’s resources.

"I’ve lost 30 pounds since I started and work out now more than ever, and I have even trained for a 1/2 marathon!", says Wakeman. "I have it all documented on the site!"

What started off as a weight watchers support group, has now morphed into a weight loss and fitness site!

We think its great, so check it out! www.slim-people.com

P.S. If you want to be a guest blogger on the site, just go to the site and check out the “Why this Blog Started” article!

Fabulous after 40 – More than Fashion

Patsi  Krakoff of The Blog Squad (our blogging coach) hit on a very important point about looking fabulous after 40 when she responded to our post Long Hair on Older women – Sexy or Silly?

long-hair

She said “Hi gals! I’ve had long hair all my life and it wasn’t until 60 that I started wearing medium length hair-same style only shorter. I’m 63 this week and I still get compliments on my hair. The trick is to stay healthy through exercise and diet-your hair is evidence of your health inside. Shoulder length hair seems to work best for me these days, or slightly above.”

Can you believe she is 63? She looks more like 36! As much as we love fashion and beauty and take great joy in helping you to dress to look your best, there is nothing we can do to really make you look fabulous after 40 if you don’t put the time and energy into taking care of yourself.

A tube of lipstick or the latest handbag and shoes can never make-up up for dry skin, dull hair lackluster eyes and a tired overweight body – all signs of too much junk food and lack of exercise.

Make-up artist Bobbi Brown, who is about to turn 50 put it best when she said, the key to looking beautiful as we age is not what you put on your face, but rather how you care for your body. It’s about (how you’re) eating,” she says. It’s about exercise more than anything else.”

Another of our subscribers who positively glows is further proof of this.

Donna from New Jersey sent us this picture of her with her beautiful long dark hair and wrote:I am 43 and I don’t have any real secrets for looking Age-mazing™.

long-hair2

I walk religiously, am conscious about what I eat, wear sunscreen, and stay away from cigarette smoke.

Again, all good healthy habits to keep you looking vibrant. Then being fashionable after 40 is the icing on the cake!
