How to tie a scarf ~ a fashion question!

Dear Glam Gals,

I see that scarves are so popular these days and many of my friends wear them and always look so stylish.  However, I have no idea how to tie a scarf!  Help!

Thanks, Celine W.

While we all know how to tie a turkey leg together, when it comes to tying a scarf that can be a different matter!

Deborah and I were out at the malls recently and spotted this beautiful over 40 gal!  This square scarf really added some style to a simple top and leather skirt.

Are you making this over 40 fashion mistake?

A true Glam Gal always wants to look her best, even when going out to the grocery store.

But what can you wear that is easy to throw on and still comfortable?

Watch our latest Tweak Your Chic style video for some fresh inspiration:

Does this look familiar? Looking sloppy is not an option when going out!

AFTER: Much more polished looking, for sure!

A simple accessory like this stretch belt from Suzi Roher makes this an outfit and not just another blah pant and top

How to dress comfortable, casual and chic when transitioning from summer to fall

Transitioning into fall can be frustrating.  One day it’s hot, the next cool.  It’s October so you don’t want to look like you’re still wearing your summer clothes yet it’s not cold enough to break out the turtlenecks.  Time to “shop” in your closet, use one of your light weight dresses, add a few accessories or layers to transform your dress into a new outfit.  That’s what we call dressing Chic on the Cheap!

Here are a few tips on how to gently transition into fall:

  1. Wear darker, richer colors
  2. Take a simple cotton dress and add a stretch belt
  3. Tie on a light weight scarf
  4. Time to get out the boots, especially on those rainy days
Here’s a little video to show you how:

AFTER: Adding only 4 accessories makes this plain dress into an outfit!

Get yourself in shape for the holidays…

Hi all, JoJami here!

It’s never too early to start thinking about getting ready for the holidays!

As you all know it takes time to lose weight and so we wanted to share with you all a wonderful program that will get you started to feeling great and looking even better!

You might have read some of  fitness expert Shawna’s articles in our Monday Fashion Flash and of all the weight loss programs out there, this one could not be easier or more effective.

This is not a gimmick and there are no magic pills or a guarantee that you will lose 10 pounds in 10 days…

Nope, this program is the real deal…it’s all about eating right and doing a 30-40 minute strenuous workout.  This takes a lot less time than having to drive back and forth to a gym and you can do it in the privacy of your own home!

With The Female Fat Loss After 40 program you can get started instantly and do it anywhere with no fancy equipment.

I’ve just started on the program and am having a blast! (You can check out my progress on our Facebook page)

Just wanted to get you thinking about this, so you can have the tools you need to look and feel FAB going into this festive season!

Dry Hair Blues?

Truth be told, I (JoJami) do color my hair at home sometimes using a box. (Not that great of an idea because it can really be drying!)

SO…between that and with this harsh winter,  my hair has been looking pretty brittle. I do use a good conditioner, but it doesn’t seem to help.

I honestly thought that there was nothing more that I could do, that it was just the way my hair was and that was that, until yesterday….

I was getting my hair trimmed and stylist/owner Holly Grist at 828 Hair salon, recommended I try this intense Kerastase treatment.

Wowie, Zowie… it worked.

This Keratase is a wonderful product to condition dry hair!

Miracles can happen…:)

Here are few more tips you can try at home to keep your hair looking shiny:

  • Before you blow dry your hair, get as much as the moisture out first.
  • Tip your head upside down and use only your fingers (not a brush) and dry your hair with the blow dryer.
  • Do use high quality products. Drug store products tend to have a lot of alcohol and can be drying.
