Considering Cosmetic Surgery?

Vanessa Williams is open about it, Jacqueline Bisset thinks it’s freakish, Madonna has had it and doesn’t totally deny it, and Jayne Seymour slams it, even though she’s admits she’s tried it herself.jane-seymour

What are we talking about? Cosmetic Surgery, of course.

It’s so in your face these days (so to speak) that who hasn’t thought about trying botox, restalyne, or even having a little nip or tuck?

But even though it would be nice to look as young as you feel, nobody wants to feel pressured to have cosmetic surgery just because everyone else is doing it.

And who wants to go through any pain or complications or, God forbid, end up looking like Joan Rivers.

To have it, or not have it. That is the question. How do you decide? What’s really involved in having cosmetic surgery? How safe is it, and are the thousands of doctors out there practicing really qualified to do it (or have they just taken a weekend course somewhere?)

To make sure you find a legitimate board certified plastic surgeon visit The American Society of Plastic Surgeons,

Funny, but this whole cosmetic surgery debate, for or against, seems similar to the split women have when it comes to childbirth. Should you deliver “naturally” or have an epidural?

There’s no right answer. It’s a personal thing and it’s really up to you. No need to explain yourself to anyone. Just make sure that if you do choose to do it, you’ve researched it thoroughly and are realistic about the results.

    Thanks for the article!
    I totally agree.
The decision of having or not having plastic surgery is our own, and it depends only on how we feel about ourselves. The main thing is not having too much, unless you want to look like Michael Jackson and have Victoria Beckham’s breasts.
I’m looking through other patients results on http://plasticsergeant.com/ and I notice, that in many cases, their appearance in the ‘before’ pics is BETTER better than in ‘after’.
We all shoul think clear while considering plastic surgery

Hold on there missy; plastic surgery is a far, far, far, bigger and longer lasting decision than “natural childbirth or an epidural!!! What are you smoking babycakes? Pop out the baby naturally or with drugs and you still look the same. Besides which no one would ever know by looking at you which you method you picked . Have plastic surgery that goes bad and hang on there mom but you look like crap the rest of your life; there’s no going back. My girlfriends and I have determined a face lift only makes you look like you had a face lift and not necessarily younger or better. Buy some expensive skin cream and call it a day

I LOVE the comparison to childbirth and whether or not to have an epidural. There really is no right or wrong on either, just personal choice. However, if any of you are on the fence about cosmetic surgery, and looking for ways to put it off, or avoid it altogether, here is my eHow article on How to Look Younger Without Plastic Surgery or Botox. (There are many useful suggestions on the Fabulousafter40 site, too!) I hope you find the article useful!
