Do comfortable shoes have to be ugly?

comfortable?.. perhaps, but ugly!
Here is another letter from one of our readers:
Dear Glam Gals,
Here’s the dilemma: I seem to have managed to pare my wardrobe down to good classics that fit me, an excellent assortment of accessories, jewelry and a few good purses…BUT…what to do about shoes? I find it hard to find ones that are comfortable!
Thanks for your help.
Laura
Hi Laura,
We do agree that it can be a challenge to find shoes that are both comfortable and have some style.
If you are trying to update your shoe wardrobe for fall, we have found that there are reliable brands out there like Naturalizers that have styles that can be both comfortable and stylish.
For a casual flat, try crocodile loafer under a pair of wide legged trousers:

Here is a two tone pump that would spice up your boring suit for work

Check out our contest this month for your chance to win a free pair Naturalizer shoes!! Like these cute boots!!

You could be the lucky winner of the boots!

I have to say…I love shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!and Bags!! ]
Heels, flats, nice flip flops with a wedge or alittle sexy heel .I love but my absolute favorite are BOOTS! I wear cowboy boots, pointy boots, suede, leather, wellie boots ..I have wanted a pair of chick boots like the gravatar!for so long having a love for horses and horseback riding…
If I won them my hubby won’t get mad at me..

Hi Caroline,
Good luck! We hear ya, the best way to acquire nice things, is to win them for FREE!!
I have finally had to admit to myself that I take a wide width in shoes. The selection is dismal. Here are the brands that I find most comfortable as well as somewhat fasionable:
Talbots (carries some wides);
Hush Puppies (some cute shoes, some not so cute, but VERY comfortable);
Ros Hommerson (very comfortable shoes, wear well);
Enzo Angiolini (love their flats)
Would like to see more of your suggestions for shoes, esp. heels for wearing when going out. It’s such a challenge to find stylish yet age-appropriate ones that are not spikes or platforms with 4-inch heels. Want to look good, but not ridiculous.
Hi Lindy,
Finding wide width shoes that are stylish can be hard! Thanks for your suggestions. We love http://www.zappos.com and Nordstroms also!
It’s even harder to find shoes when you have bunions (and don’t want to spend a fortune)! Still looking!
WHERE to find platform-type pumps in size long (10) and narrow??? A real challenge!
I have to have WW width shoes. I thought I was an 8 or 8 1/2 for YEARS and I discovered that I am not. I am 7 1/2 WW. When I found this out-suddenly my feet were comfy! I buy from Zappos and Footsmart a lot. Zappos is wonderful because they pay for returns. Shoes must be tried before buying! Their policy is a godsend. I buy tons of Propet shoes. There ARE a few shoe makers out there who make some quite pretty WW shoes. Check it out
I like to wear flats (carry my heels to and from) all the time now. However, Taryn Rose are the most comfortable and stylish shoes I have ever worn. When I do my gallery walks (http://nycartgallerywalkschelsea.blogspot.com) I wear them all day long. Expensive… BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Areosoles is my go to brand for affordable, comfy heels. I also find some of the newer wedges to be amazingly comfy for heels, even the ones from Target’s Mossimo brand. There seem to be more heels out there with better padding and foot support than there used to be!
