Do you have the Spring shopping itch?
Oh my gosh…when you live back east like we Glam Gals do, you get pretty tired of all the snow and dreary weather, SO when the sun starts peaking out again, like it has this week, we sure get the itch to get out and go buy something new for Spring! (Good to know that you are not the only one, right!)
I (JoJami) did just that this week and let me tell you what I saw.
- THE BIG MISTAKE!!
Here I was at the department store, and all this gorgeous new merchandise was hanging there while, ALL the women were over at the Sale rack of old tired, picked over junky tops, pants, dresses….
Ladies, DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE!
Beware of the SALE rack! You will be tempted to bring home, yet again, something to hang in your closet that is just mediocre.
INSTEAD… just go window shopping and try on things that are fresh and new for Spring. Then you can see if you want to splurge on a new jacket or top that is actually updated, new and FUN!
Here is my 1 purchase over the weekend.
This colorful BCBG jacket! I have already worn it 2 times and have felt great in it. I have satisfied my shopping craving, and have a new piece for my wardrobe, that I should enjoy for the next few years.
Instead of buying something that you just “sort of like”, be super picky and try buying something that you really need and love.
THEN send us a photo and tell us about it!!!

When I read this blog, I fell in love with the BCBG jacket pictured…the shape and the color. When I logged onto the BCBG website to order it, the photo looks exactly as JoJami has it above. HOWEVER, when I received it in the mail, it was not this golden color at all. It was a very dark rusty pumpkin color. Obviously not JoJami’s fault !! I called BCBG and asked if they could fix the photo on the website because even the sales rep on the phone thought it would be golden orange. Just a warning. Great shape and style but much darker color. Perhaps that is why it is hard to do internet shopping instead of in-store shopping.
Hi Donna,
Yes, your point is well taken. Shopping on line is definitely tricky but when you live in an area where there are not a lot of choices for stylish stores, it can be hard. I hope you will take the time to return the jacket, because it is not good to get “stuck” with something that you don’t like.
I bought my jacket at the store so I did know what color I was getting. BTW, it does come in a few other colors too!
Thanks for the warning!
Great story and great reminder!
Thanks Glam Girls for that BIG reminder, and doesn’t that go with everything we purchase!
