Don’t let lip hair ruin your Image

moustache

Have you checked your upper lip lately?

Lip hair (the dreaded mustache).

Yes, the time has come or it will…I promise that you will get some.

It even happened to me (JoJami) recently…. the unexpected lip hair. It was just there one day. Oh good grief, how shocking and depressing, but most of all shocking. NOT ME… and how did it ever get to such a great length.

Now, that I have found one, I am obsessed, I went out and bought one of those super duper magnifying mirrors and I use it. I look into it, daily and go in for inspection..

If I happen to miss a few days, it could be bad…very bad, one might crop up again. They do that, when you least expect it.

So, if you haven’t been up close and personal with your top lip lately.. I highly advise you to go in and take a look.  Female facial hair is just not necessary with all the tools that are available.

  • Plucking
  • waxing
  • laser hair removal
  • bleaching

However, bleaching as an option is  really not that great, since you can still see the hair and why not just get rid of it while your at it, instead of trying to camouflage it.

This little detail can really make or break a Glam Gal.. when you think about it,

lip hair on women is like ear hair on men…nobody wants to have to look at it!

So, if you don’t have a good lighted makeup mirror  (Drugstore.com), make sure you run out and get one! It is important to keep track of these things!!

Make sure you get one of these!

Make sure you get one of these!

Amen! Laser removal of facial hair is second only to teeth whitening for anti-aging effect. This will take ten years off your appearance and is well worth the investment. (Usually 10-minute appointment.) While you’re there, consider having the aesthetician use the laser to shape and your eyebrows and lift the underneath eyebrow line.

  2. Hi Karen,
Glad to hear from you. Although I have never had lazer done on my lip, I have had it on other areas and it has been great! However, I would caution about lazering the eyebrow area, unless you have super thick eyebrows. As we age our eyebrows tend to become thin from over plucking. Moreover the lazer technique is not that accurate to be hitting an area as small as an eyebrow.

You forgot to mention electroysis. Laser removal cannot be done on light or gray hair, so I found myself a great electrolysis and it’s working wonderfully.

When I checked into Laser hair removal, they told me the hair needed to be substantially darker for the laser to detect and remove it. My facial hair is quite light so they said it would not really do any good. Who knows, maybe tomorrow morning I will wake up and it will be black!! You never know what to expect at 48.

  5. Hi Rita,
Good point! You are so right, that is a great option!

  6. Hi Julie,
Yes electrolysis is another wonderful option that I should have mentioned.

You didn’t mention threading . . . I find it to be the best (and cheapest) way to remove facial hair. It also has the added advantage of trimming the eyebrow hair so my eyebrows always look perfectly manicured when I leave there. The eyebrows don’t hurt too much but I have to say the threading of the upper lip is quite torturous. However for $10 for both and no hot wax burning my skin . . . I can’t beat it!

I have found that having my lip and eyebrows waxed at my salon every 4 weeks along with a haircut, color, and manicure is a perfect way to spend the second Friday of each month, Keeps the hair in shape, eye and lip hair tamed, and the manicure is a treat for this poor tired high school teacher at the end of a long week!

Before I had mine lasered I just used an electric razor which worked fine. It doesn’t make the hair grow back darker or thicker, but the regrowth does have blunt ends which may make it seem that way. But if you’re going to get rid of it anyway does it really matter?

  10. Hi Jeanie
Sounds great to us… good for you for pampering yourself and keeping up good grooming habits!!!
    Cheers!

  11. Hi Rhonda, H ow could we forget threading!! We had it done for the first time at the More Reinvention convention 2 years ago. Just did the eyebrows and it was not painful at all and with great results. Can’t imagine the upper lip, but we will take your word for it, a little pain but a cheap price!
Thanks for sharing this great tip!

the best teeth whitening agents are still based on peroxides’~”

  13. Rita says:

what is best for women like me with very light hair all over my face?

  14. There is a wonderful facial you can get, where they can use a special razor on the face to get rid of the hair. It has to be done on a regular basis but it does work and is not painful.
