Dear Glam Gals,
My name is Jaki Sinclair and I have lost 120 pounds (and am maintaining the loss) by changing my attitude, moving a little more and eating a little less. No fad/crash diets, pills or surgery.
I’ve been overweight since grade-school and have spent most of my life on a diet or planning out my next diet. I would love to be able to encourage other people that, like me, have struggled their entire lives to lose weight and let them know not to give up.
I’ll be turning 48 next week, have my first bicycle in 30 years and feel like I have my life back and want to share with everyone.
I’d love for you to do a health success story of me to encourage people to make healthy choices and not to give up.I have attached a before and after photo and also a pic of me and my pup (Sassafras) on a bike ride. My Blog: www.slimdownu.com
I hope I hear from you! :)

Hi Jaki,
Your story is truly one that we would love to share! You have really transformed yourself and it looks like you’re living life to the fullest with your new healthy lifestyle!
Thanks for sharing your inspirational story…many of our readers are struggling with their weight and it’s easy to think that because we have hit a “certain age” that we can’t change but you have certainly proven that change can happen, even after 40!
Keep it up!! We are so thrilled that you wrote us!

She looks fantastic. I am on my way to losing 100. I am down 82 pounds now. I will send in photos soon
Sabrina, how much did you exercise a day to lose 120 pounds in 3 months?? 4-6 hours? (:
Jaki, you are such an inspiration! I have let myself think that I can’t lose weight, that I’ll have huge folds of skin if I do — any excuse. But you’re inspiring me to try again!
Congratulations!

Congrats Jaki!! What an inspirational picture. You look fantastic. It is just what I needed. I lost weight five years ago and have not struggled to keep it off until now. I started a new business and the work load behind the desk has taken its toll. I feel flabby and I realize how much I miss my exercise. Thanks for the article, it has me motivated to make the time to get back in shape.
I have been doing the same thing since summer. Just staying positive and focused on tying to improve my health. I’m 54 and have severe arthritis in both legs. Surgery is in my future, but I am making it as far away as possible by improving my eatting habits. that is watching how much I eat of all the foods I really love. Smaller portions is the key. I’ve lost 30 pounds since August and proud of myself. Plan to loose another 30 by summer and continue the cycle until I reach my goal of 190 pounds. Just eat less and try to eat a salad and fruit when its convenient.
Hi Sandy! Yes, so great to hear! There seems like really there is no “magic” pill or Fad diet…just some common sense, will power, sensible easting, portion control and some exercise! I’ts certainly not easy to change bad habits but worth trying so that you can feel better!
Congratulation! I am 45, and can say from experience that if you don’t have the mindset to actually lose the weight, nothing will help you.
I personally can’t count how many times I asked myself how I could lose my weight. I was just wasting my time talking and never acting. Actually I tried a lot of crappy diet plans and fake fat loss pills that did nothing for me but empty my wallet. I eventually came across one easy and natural method and decided to try it out http://easyfreediet.weebly.com To be fair, it didn’t shave off 70 pounds the first week like everything else guarantees. But after 3 months passed I easily lost 120 pounds. Yes, I know, 40 pounds a month may be not too much for some people, but for me the method is very effective.
Now I’m looking at my body and I feel proud and happy for the first time in my life :-) Of course I am still using this method to keep it that way.
The most important thing to remember is you must never give up! Don’t waste your time just reading and looking for a miracle to happen. Just stick with one method for 2 -3 months to see great results. Good luck.
Well done Jaki your message IS an inspiration. I too have been on the same diet lifestyle since high school and I am now 54, what a waste of so many years. It is so strange how one little story such as yours can create that ‘lightbulb’ moment, thank you!
Bravo, Jaki! You look beautiful! You deserve a round of applause! And I love the little bicycle dog basket!
