One of the easiest ways to update your wardrobe is to add a trendy new color. Today I’m partnering with Nordstrom to show you a fabulous fall sweater from Eileen Fisher in a hue that will turn heads!
Officially, Pantone calls this warm yellow-green Golden Curry or Golden Olive, but most fashionistas are referring to this trendy new shade as simply, Mustard. Nordstrom has a huge selection of gorgeous Eileen Fisher pieces in this upbeat, modern color.
In a previous post, I talked about how wearing a mustard scarf with a dark forest green top is all you need if you want to get your feet wet with this trend. For those fashionistas who prefer to dive right in, this sweater is for you!
This striking wool sweater from Eileen Fisher is an Italian knit. It has a beautiful bateau neckline and an easy to wear box shape that makes it look fresh and youthful.
Isn’t that ribbing gorgeous? A fabulous color and some interesting texture are all you need to put together a great look. I always think less is more when you want to look casually chic. The cute cropped length gives this sweater a sporty vibe and makes it ideal for layering. This top would also look great with a shirt underneath.
How do you like the pants? These are Eileen Fisher’s Ponte pants. They’re super comfy and have lots of stretch just like leggings, but they are straight cut, not skinny-tight at the ankle.
These pants read black, but they’re actually charcoal, which is more gray-black than jet black. That’s a subtle difference, but I think the charcoal/ mustard combo looks especially rich, and it has more of a high tech look than straight black paired with mustard does. Either way, charcoal or black works.
Sneakers are a big part of my 50+ lifestyle. I love this velvety, black suede pair because the studs are not so crazy-big (like on some sneakers) that they take over the shoe. These are from Halogen (Nordstrom’s house brand), and they are very comfy!
I can’t help but think how fantastic these sneakers are going to be when I travel. Black, flat, easy on the feet… these are my new airport shoes!
My big tote is from Tory Burch. It has a minimalist design doesn’t detract from my high contrast, high impact look.
Looking at this outfit again, I love the dramatic effect of pairing such opposite colors. The look is bold, but the cozy sweater makes it inviting.
This casual outfit is such a fresh new way to welcome fall! Be sure to check out Nordstrom to see this sweater and all the other great items in the Eileen Fisher Collection. Here are a few more other choices in this marvelous color. Pass the mustard please!
