Fashionable First Ladies over 40

Michelle Obama looked fab recently in L’Wren Scott. She’s been a teriffic fashion role model for women over 40. No dowdy politician’s wife’s outfits for her!
France’s first lady Carl Bruni has also been an elegant inspiration for how to dress at any age,
…and so has the very beautiful 41 year Queen of Jordan, Queen Rania - simple, modern and so graceful.
Now you can add another first lady to that inspiring list. She is 45 year old Mehriban Aliyevan of Azerbaijan.

I think that fake looking bun sitting on top of Mehribans head looks ridiculous! It doesn’t even match the color or texture of her hair. And those little “Twiggy” lash lines painted inbetween the lower lashes …gotta go! Hello! The 60′s called – they want their wardrobe and make up back!
In the last two photos – where she is wearing her natural hair and much less make up she looks not only so much better but much, much younger. WHich just goes to prove that as you age, less is definitely more!

My personal rate on first ladies styles:
1) Altesse Royale Queen Rania – the most refined of all; it’s the hardest element to achieve simplicity in style, meaning being genuine and yourself
2) Mrs. Carla Bruni Sarkozy – typical European, the Italian lived in Paris, who became more French chic than Italian
3) Mrs. Mehriban A. of Azerbaijan – very elegant and high class, yet too polished to be genuine
4) Mrs. Michelle Obama – typical style of brought up American woman who wants to make the right impression
