Foot fillers to combat High Heel Hell!

We’ve had a lot of emails from you complaining that years of wearing high heels have left you with very sore, aching feet. Good news, there may be a solution. Check out this article we just read on:

Cosmetic fillers to cushion to feet.

We’re putting dermal fillers everywhere else these days. Now doctors figure, why not the balls of our feet?

This is ridiculous! I clicked on this link hoping to see some sort of gel filler or cushion I could buy to insert into my shoes. There is no chance in hell I would want to inject my feet with unnecessary crap to lessen the pain from shoes. I’m not against cosmetic injections and plastic surgery, I just think this is absolutely ridiculous! What a stupid idea!

Hi!!! I am also a podiatrist

who offers this procedure with great success, my patient list does not just include women who want to wear high heel either, this procedure can also help patients with debilitating arthritic conditions.I work along side several doctors who refer patients to me as they are not qualified to do the procedure! as this is not a procedure that is learned during a doctors medical degree( MD ) Thankfully the doctors i work along side recognise Podiatrist as medical health professionals, who specialise in diagnosing and treating lower limb conditions.

Podiatrist are required to complete a minimum of 3/4 years Bachelor of Science Degree in Podiatric Medicine, specialising in areas of foot anatomy, foot surgery, diabetes, arthritics conditions, gait analysis, with several hundred hours in hands on clinical surgery practice to gain Health Professions Council ( HPC ) just like doctors with the General Medical Council(GMC), this is why we are often referred to as foot doctors!

While attending medical conferences and postgraduate courses in London,Mr Akbal Randhawa name has been mentioned several times with high regard as a pioneer in podiatric medicine, by doctors and other health professionals.

unfortunately we have not crossed paths yet, but i would hope this would be the case in the future, as we both have an interest in cosmetic podiatric medicine.

Um…NO THANKS! This sounds like a crazy idea. I can understand it if it is medically necessary. But, if it is for the sole (haha) purpose of wearing heels, I think not. There are terrific products out there that one can slip into her shoe for added padding and comfort. These products are much cheaper than a medical procedure.

oh i just hate the fat pads that i got, my fat pad is just genetics so i can’t do anything about it .`*

  5. i am looking for cheap fat pads, can someone tell me a store that sells them cheap?;*,

  6. Hi Mr.Akbal (not Dr.?????)
Thanks for your comment, however, we would be afraid of going to anyone who does not have an MD associated with their name! However it does sound like you take a conservative approach to your your practice.

  7. Dear all,
I am a Podiatist that has been using fillers to treat my patients foot pain now for nearly 6 years now and I felt it wa appropriate to speak on this forum.
My patients be they male or female whether they wear heels or not have pain in their feet, unfortunately as we age we all lose some of the fat pad in the sole of the foot, this is why many of my patients complain of discomfort walking over the little bumps as road crossings regardless or their footwear.
I also provide my patients with advice on their shoes and general foot health and many of the patients I see do not need this treatment and there are more appropriate treatments including insoles or surgery.
The Pillows for feet treatment works well and I get good feedback from my patients, my initial consulation is free and there is no obligation to have the treatment if it is appropriate I will also give you information about alternatives.

    Best wishes,
    Mr Akbal Randhawa
    Podiatrist

  8. Hi Sanya,
You are safe to wear a platform as long as it is not too crazy high!! Good luck! If in doubt, take a photo of yourself in the shoe store in the shoe and we can give you our feedback! Good luck!

  9. sanya says:

Thanks! Maybe I’ll try to get over my fear that I will look and feel like I’m trying to pull off a look that is too young for me. There are so many platforms out now, it’s either that or be forced to head into grandma territory.

  10. Platforms are absolutely age appropriate, hip and can even be pretty darn comfortable! We like them and wear them!
    Thanks for the question!

  11. sanya says:

Should women over 40 wear platforms?? Is it age appropriate? Serious question :)

  12. We are very interested in all the responses we have gotten from this post pro and con (mostly con!) We have not tried this and can not recommend it, we are just putting it out there for debate!

  13. Hi Jing,
We love platform shoes. They are so much more comfortable, you are so right! Ladies, if you have never tried on a platform shoe, go for it!

  14. jing says:

I love wearing platform shoes it’s easier to wear than those regular high heeled shoes. I’m 5 ft tall but with my platform shoes I can be 5 ft and 4 inches =)

  15. beacuz says:

hmmmmm…….not really liking the idea of needles, filler ok, but needles, nope.

  16. Hi Izzy,
We hear you pain… please don’t think we are trying to be the fashion police here, we certainly are not! We just think, life is too short to be frumpy.. We are all about the FUN factor. If you think high heels are a pain in the ass…then by all means don’t wear them. We just happen to think they help us look taller, slimmer, sexier. Thanks for your opinion.. many women feel the same way you do and it is good to hear your voice here!!!
THREE CHEERS for doing your own thing!!! AMEN!

  17. Izzy says:

    What a stupid idea!!
To promote putting artificial crap in your body? How about tell women to stop wearing high heels? They are bad for your knees, back, feet!

I never wear them but on a rare dressup occasion. If you are dumb enough to wear high heels daily though, maybe you are dumb enough to put junk in your heels. After all, you didn’t take care of your body to begin with.
