How to Go from Work to Play When You’re Over 40

Dear  Glam Gals,

I have to dress conservative for work but my boyfriend works in a creative office.  When we go out after work, I feel like I look boring and out of place.  How can I dress up my look so that I’m  a little more edgy?

Hi Linda,
Here are a few ideas that you can try and you might not even have to buy one thing!

  • If you have a white blouse and pencil skirt, just unbutton the white blouse, put in a big chunky necklace
  • Add a pair of nude fishnet hose and leopard print pumps

For another look:

  • Start with some dark wash jeans
  • Add your white blouse
  • Throw on a cropped leather jacket
  • Layer a few longer chain necklaces
  • Those pumps will work with this outfit too…

You probably already have these things in your closet and just need to pull them together to Tweak Your Chic™

    JoJami,

    I have the same Banana Republice dress that you have on in this video. I wore it to a casual summer wedding last year with a green sandal that nearly matched the lime in the dress. I have to know what kind of shoes do you like to wear with this colorful dress?
