How To Hide Your Midlife Tummy – Part 3

Today we are discussing Part-3 on how to hide your midlife tummy!

Tip: Don’t Tuck In

Long and loose over the tummy.Tucking in is going to put emphasis on your tummy and make it look larger. Leaving out will help elongate your body and make you look thinner. Once again, make sure the top is not boxy, or you will not accomplish this goal! One great way to tuck out is to wear an empire top.We love this v-neck top with  detailing at the bust that helps draw attention up to your face and away from your tummy.
That little bit extra hides the tummy. For a more romantic feel, try a blouse (from Etcetera). This bold print is updated and will camouflage any bulges. (P.S.Our client never liked to show her arms but look how nice they look in this top!) Sometimes we are just too hard on ourselves!!!

Now, you might want to try some shapewear! We love shape wear and it can really work well when you want to wear something that is close fitting and want to “smooth” things out! This gal has a great figure but as you can see on the left she still has a tiny belly roll. Once we put some shape wear on her, she looks like she has toned up, instantly!

We like Slimpressions!

  1. Fabulous top option. The print also helps to disguise what lies beneath. Prints are a great way to confuse the eye…much harder to focus as they dance around trying to take it all in.

  2. Hi Anita,
    Yes, your right about prints!
You know… sometimes we just say things on FAF without explaining the “why”, so thanks for taking the time do such a charming job of clarifying “why” it works!
    Love your comments….keep them coming!
    Cheers!

  3. cecille says:

    camouflage by
    1. wearing a blouse or dress loose at the midsection but hip hugging
    2. the empire cut always does its work
    although camouflaging may work
it would be better if one exercises the fat off the midsection
Studies have shown that the size of the midsection is correlated with high incidence of heart disease, stroke and earlier death
    try sit-ups
    half sit-ups
consciously contracting your abdominal muscles whenever and wherever

  4. Hi Dr. Cecille, Thanks for the tips! We should all be exercising that is for sure! However, we have found, after a certain age, it is really hard to get rid of the “pooch” no matter how hard you try! So for now… we hope to help ladies look and feel slimmer in their clothes instantly! All it takes is some new strategies and trying something that you might not have tried!

  5. Carol Grund says:

Where can I buy a pink top like that?

  6. Hi Carol,
That top came from Nordstrom. You can see if they still have something similar.
