How to update your wardrobe 5 ways with only 1 piece!
One of our readers wrote us recently that she was really depressed that she had nothing to wear to an upcoming Sunday afternoon Christmas tea. Her budget was very limited and she didn’t want to have to buy an entire new outfit.
We suggested that she go out and find a new blouse to spice up what she already had in her closet!
She was thrilled and went out and found a gorgeous new blouse for $49.00 and when she got it home, she realized that it was going to be able to make up to 5 new outfits with it!
Here are a few suggestions that we think would be great additions to your winter wardrobe! The secret is finding a blouse with an interesting neckline that will add some flair!
This type of neckline is always flattering!
Under a suit jacket or on its own, this pretty blouse looks good on all body types! (from Nordstroms)

This off the shoulder is hard to find, but easy to look good in!

Would you suggest wearing necklaces with any of these blouses? And if yes, what type?

Yes a necklace can be fun and will dress up or dress down an outfit depending on the type. We will have to do another post about that with examples, however just to chat now… I would say you would do a nice chunky type of necklace for the first top, and long layering strands for the leopard, and I would let the white, boat neck stand on its own..no necklace needed.
In our archive we have some good examples of how to accessorize and outfit and in our Dressing the Mother of the Bride e-book, we do have a lot of pictures and plenty of examples on how to do this properly.
One of our biggest tip, is NOT to wear that tiny little necklace, that you have in your jewelry box. These are out of date and better to leave off than to try to pull it off.
