Hi Lisa,
O.K. you are right, we have not addressed the issue of how much cleavage is too much cleavage. This is a tricky one, since there are a lot of things to factor into that equation. First off, lets look at Stacey. She is dressed fashionably, conservative (long skirt and long sleeves, nothing too tight, fabric is not clingy or tight) She is not extremely busty and so even though she is wearing a low cut blouse, your eyes are not going to her bust because her bust is small AND she has filled the chest area with a bold necklace that draws the eye up. She was also on vacation and traveling, not at work, so we think this look on her is totally appropriate. Moreover, she just happens to be single as well!!!
Now, take that same outfit and put it in a corporate work environment and we would say that she should consider changing the blouse to one that is not as sexy.
Here are some things one should consider before going too low:
1. Are you busty? (be careful not to show too much if you are)
2. Where are you going? (are you on play time or work time)
3. What is the fabric you are wearing. (is it thin clinging fabric, or one that is stiff)
4. How do you look overall in the outfit, where does the eye go to? (are you showing bulges in your stomach or waist and how much is your bust hanging out)

There is no easy answer to this, but if your gut is telling you your showing off too much, then you probably are. However, we do see many women who have great figures that are not showing them off. There is a balance to all of this, that if you have a question, feel free to write in with a photo.
Lets keep this discussion going... please comment below!

With respect, I agree that the necklace is a matter of style/personal preference. You make a fair point that overall effect is a good look, if not my particular taste. However, the clevage question goes to age appropriateness and calls for some guidelines.

Hi Lisa,
Yes,you are right. We all have different ideas on taste and how far to push the envelope with updating our style. That is what why we like to show a variety of tastes and styles. Some of our readers will take a more conservitive approach to dressing, while others like to see a more fashion forward look. This woman was out in Los Angeles and really fit in out there. Her necklace was just featured in a fashion magazine and we love the bold statement it makes. Thank goodness we all don't have the same taste, it would be a very boring world out there!
Cheers!

I think you guys were spot on with the Twin Sets -- I ordered 3 and am considering the fourth! But I have to respectfully disagree on the wrinkled look -- personally, I think that's too much clevage and I'm not fond of the necklace either. But to each her own!
