If Susan Boyle were to get a makeover…

So, of course you have seen Britain’s newest, hottest talent Susan Boyle?... We did too, and we’re cheering on this 47 year old, Britian’s Got Talent, vocal sensation!
Still, there’ no denying that although she’s a fabulous singer, Ms. Boyle is a little behind the times when it comes to her fashion sense.
Recently, The Fashionator from iVillage asked the Glam Gals, “If you could make over Susan, what would you do?”
Here’s how we’d help Susan look Age-mazing™ ( Amazing for her Age):
When we saw Susan we just wanted to throw our arms around her and give her a big hug! She has an adorable, frisky personality, but it does not match the way she dresses. If she wants to be a performer and a star, she will need to class up her act. We would LOVE to be the ones to do it!
- She is dressing too old and matronly and we would like to help her in this area.
- We would give her an outfit that is age appropriate, elegant and stylish.
- Then of course her hair needs color and style (We would work with the over 40 hair expert, Christopher Hopkins, The Makeover Guy, on this project)
- She seems to like to wear blah beige. We would like to brighten her up in a dress with some color to it, to fit her sassy personality!
- Also, she has a cute figure that we could show off better and we need to get those breasts into a good bra!
- She does not wear makeup and we would like to see her made up naturally, not too heavy.
- And last but not least, we would take care of her bushy eyebrows!

I blogged about the same thing. I can’t decide for sure. I kind of like her look! I mean…it suits where she is at. (or was before the sudden fame).

I had some time on my hands (maybe too much?) and did a little photoshop on a photo I found of Susan. I tried to keep it simple. I’m not a stylist, so it’s not perfect, but it’s a start.

As much as I LOOOVE the makeover thing, there is also a certain freshness about someone who is just “them”. Yeah Susan! At the end of the day – AGEmazing women are just that, whatever their interpretation of their world. Vive la difference!

This was fun to see! I would like to see her with her hair more natural. I like the soft curl to her hair. Also, you put her in black…she needs some softer color on her.

She sure is pretty and her personality is bigger than life. This is going to be interesting… and to see how the stylists out there that get a hold of her, keep her authentic but move her forward in a career that demands you look a certain way.
One thing, if she ever goes to Broadway, she will have to wear a costume, on stage, so that takes care of that . However, she is already appearing on talk shows and the media circuit where she need to look her best and still feel like herself.
What that will evolve to is going to be fun to see played out. It’s almost like finding George in the jungle. She seems like she has hid herself away from society and is just peeking her head out and saying, “Wow, look what is out there.”
Who knows what she might discover for herself, but from what I’ve seen of her so far, she has the balls to listen to her heart and will keep it real!

Thanks for the comments. I really started out just working on evening out her ruddy complexion, then got carried away. I’ll take your suggestions and see if I can find some better choices. How’s the hair color?
