Jane Fonda’s Cosmetic Surgery confession

Never say never!

Just when Jane Fonda said she would never get cosmetic surgery again, she sneaked in and did it. ..I guess it’s that new boyfriend she has!

You don’t see a lot of difference at first, until you look down at her neck. She looks pretty good!

You know our stand on all of this; it’s such a personal thing. There’s no right or wrong. It’s all up to how you  feel. We know some of you may disagree and that’s why we throw this post in. It makes for lively conversation.

We’d love to hear your views and experiences, pro and con. What do you think of Jane’s decision to have more cosmetic surgery at 72?

Is there anything wrong with wanting to be a “Glamorous Grandma”, as Jane calls it?

Oh, I saw Jane on Broadway last year… she is a gorgeous and amazing looking woman, I want her outfits, I want her style… goes to show that style is more important than the micro-details… If it makes her happy, go for it. You also see people with surgery and no-style… it has made no difference! Go Jane, you are lovely anyhow.

Though I don’t like the idea of associating beauty with cosmetic surgery but deep down, I truly believe we all want to be feel gorgeous and what a gift to feel that. I am not a fan on cosmetic surgery but never say never, at 72, I reckon just do whatever one feels good about. Life is just too wonderful to worry too much. I am not sure that not having a wrinkly neck makes her any more beautiful. I thought she looks very elegant with lots of ‘life experiences’ on the left photo.

    She still looks great.

I saw her up close last year in NYC. She was walking out of a narrow hotel front door, as I was walking in. She looked good, but she also looked like a woman in her 70s.

  5. Jennifer says:

Hmmmmm…I thought she looked great before. Now, across her nose looks VERY tight.
As a woman who is 44 and looking into botox for the 1st time. I am with you…NEVER say NEVER!

  6. Carolyn Woods says:

I like her before photo better. She looks like a beautiful, mature woman. Her previous face has a lot more character!

she has obviously had both a neck and brow lift done… would look great if these old surgically lifted bats would stop wearing black chunky mascara … maybe loose the lash over emphasis and play up color a little on the lid, ever notice how old women have lifts and then chunk mascara until youre afraid a piece may fall on you during conversation and unexpectantly end your life?? kinda defeats the purpose, very aging in my opinion. soft lashes and a bit of color would be a welcoming breath of fresh air.

  8. Cheryl says:

Usually, an obvious giveaway that a woman’s had a face list is the mouth..it looks unusually wide because of pulling the skin up toward the ears. Just start paying attention and you’ll notice LOTS of stars with this “wide mouth” look.

Through my eyes Jane has always looked amazing! She may be in her seventies, but just like the rest of us over fifty, in our minds we still feel young. If it takes a little collogen, botox or surgery to embrace the women we know to be true…. I say smile and go for it!

I am looking forward for little tweaks here and there. I am 45 years old and just started seeing fine lines around my eyes. My main concern now is actually my visible ugly veins on both back of my legs (mostly spider veins =( )

She looked good before and looks good now – kind of Sharon Stone clone.

  12. Maria says:

Personally, I feel beauty comes from the inside and not the outside. I do not agree with having cosmetic surgery. I truly feel there is a beauty in aging and people look better without it. It is about the person that we are inside. Don’t get me wrong I do believe in looking good, being fit and healthy and having style but that should come secondary to the person we are inside. She looked great before and did not need it. I feel the money she spend would have been better spent helping out people who are starving or really need it and that would have truly improved even more her beauty.

  13. Ellen says:

She looks amazing! If you are active and don’t feel your age, then having surgery is a great option, if you have the money and want it. Yes, beauty is from within. However, if a book has an unattractive, worn-out cover, lots of people won’t even bother to read the great story inside.

  14. Sandra says:

Oh my, she’s 72?!?! Wow. Impressive.

My very personal opinion – the “purist” days of not fiddling with natural aging and genetics will soon be over. Way over. It’s just a matter of time. People pay a lot and go through a lot to look better right now. For now we often say the cost, in pain/risk and money, is over the top, and therefore a luxuriously extreme approach, but methods will continue to improve, advances in genetics will create “super babies”, and our great, great grandkids are gonna look like a super race.

I say Bring It. Sign me up for Jane Fonda’s surgeon!

A little detail, but in the first pic, note what heavy earrings do to one’s earlobes when one gets older. I don’t think that looks good.

  16. Hi Jennifer,
That is a good point. As we age, our earlobes can stretch and heavy earrings certainly can look aging if they are “sagging”! The good news is that there a plenty of earrings out there that are large and still very lightweight! Also, if your earrings sag, you can try using those earring backs that have a large plastic disc on them.
    They work well too!
If you still have sagging earlobes, you can always go back to clip ons.

  17. She looks great. Her results are so real looking which is the whole point. She just looks refreshed and not fake. Jane has always been gorgeous.

  18. We’re told that is the whole key..getting a good surgeon. If you are getting cosmetic surgery, ask around. Here’s a tip on who to ask. Do you know any nurses? They always know who the good doctors are.

  19. Matilda says:

Do you know the name of Jane’s cosmetic Surgeon?
