We’ve been getting a ton of comments about our post about cosmetic surgery, so we thought we’d throw this into the mix for you to have your say.
There’s a great post at The Mommy Files about a woman who spent $10,000 on cosmetic surgery to look like her daughter!
Sure, it’s fun to borrow a few fashion ideas from your daughter as our friend Sherrie Mathieson points out in her new book, Steal This Style: Moms and Daughters Swap Wardrobe Secrets, but to undergo the knife to look like her? You have to be crazy. Don’t you think?

Man, that sounds like she is competing with her daughter. I agree with the previous poster, I wonder how her daughter “really” feels about that. Its her daughter time to shine, but it looks like the mother is STILL trying to steal the limelight. She need to fade to the background and let her daughter carry the beauty torch now. She can still look great for her age, but she needs to be real careful how she does that — with a teenage daughter in tow because that could easily lead to relationship problems with the daughter because of her need to compete.
I could think of so many ways to spend $10,000. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, some people have more money than common sense and integrity, I might add. I wonder how the daughter really feels about this.
Hi Sherrie,
We didn’t mean to say that your book is in anyway creepy! Just the opposite, all your books are on our recommended list! You are right on with style suggestions and flair! We give it the Glam Gals seal of approval!
Cheers to you and best of luck with this launch!

Wow!
I hope no one thinks “Steal This Style” has any affinity to that sort of craziness. In fact as you know –I’m all about looking relatively natural as you age– paying attention to style to remain modern– and ultimately to seem “ageless”.
Thanks, ladies for mentioning my new book–just out–and an exciting time!
