Losing weight and following your dreams to Oz!
It has almost been a year ago that we received a very special letter from one of our readers, Jill Knapp. She reached out to us to share her story of how after having kids, she gained 100 pounds and then got type 2 diabietes.
After she realized that her health was in jeopardy, she took it upon herself to lose the weight.
Since then, she lost 100 pounds, won top 5 in a beauty pageant and has started a blog, called Get Up and Get Moving, that has been an inspiration to others.
Now the fun news…she has even gotten the attention of Dr. Oz!
That’s right, the Dr. Oz Show found Jill’s website and then contacted her to be a mentor to 3 overweight woman on a journey to lose weight and get their life back. Through their journey she will be their mentor to give them tips help them through the rough spots and keep them motivated.
“We all live on different sides of the state but I am in contact with these ladies every day. They all 3 did beauty pageants when they were younger, Through the years all 3 of them have let their selves go and have put on lot’s of weight. We will back to the show midway through their journey and then at the final show. It’s been such a exciting week.”
Wow, it is amazing how far your story has gone since your first interview with us!!!
We are so proud of you Jill and happy that we could help spread your message that it is really possible to regain a healthy body after 40!

I vowed to take off 70 pounds when I saw his show on 100 people lost 100 or more pounds. I have been working out hard and trying to eat right. Jills story is a wonderful example of what hard work looks like. Now I have sagging already so I am not sure I will be looking as well as Jill but I will want to see the show and see her in person.
I heard the podcast. Has really already been a year. I have to say I haven’t changed much. I have high blood pressure and my Doctor says I need to get the weight off. This story is inspiring and I was inspired a year ago. I just lack the motivation. I look forward to seeing her on Dr. OZ. I love him. He really is great and My sister and I watch his show every night.
Hi Kaity,

Hi Angela,
That will be fun when you watch, you can say, I “know” Jill Knapp~ LOL, and in a sense you do! She will be reading your comment!
A inspiring story should be shared. Nice work
Whoot! Whoot! I am inspired by anyone who can lose 100 pounds. You look healthy and wonderful. I am a nurse and we watch Dr. OZ on my night shift break. I will watch. I love the real life stories myself. Celebs diet all the wrong way.
I loved her story a year ago. NY is so fun. To be on the Dr. OZ show had to be so much fun. A big shout out for keeping the weight off. Some can’t seem to get that one down.
Love the black dress. Very classy
A big congrats to the lady in question though. You look fab!!
Hi Sylvia,
WOW, you are brave to speak out and be honest about “lying to [your]self” . We have found that a “reality” check is something that all of us need once we start aging. It is scary how we can get stuck in a rut and still look in the mirror everyday and think we look O.K. If you want to “test” yourself, the best thing to do is take a photo of yourself and then print it out and past it on the wall. It can be shocking how we “think” we look, than how really look. That can be motivating to moving forward and doing the hard work that it takes to make a change and get to feeling fabulous again! Good luck and we applaud your honesty!
I will watch for sure! I am 48 and have about 60 pounds to lose. She looks great. I have always told myself I can’t loose because I am over 40. I guess that just isn’t true and I need to stop lying to myself.
I heard about Jill from a friend and have listened to the podcast you did with her. Good for her. What fun! The Dr. OZ show is great. He has opened my eyes to so many things I would hve never ever known. Smart man.
Go girl!
I will be watching!! I loved her story when you had it on.
Thank you for posting this.
