Meg Ryan The cosmetic surgery debate continues…

There’s a good article over at Entertainment & Showbiz.com that says filmmaker Cheryl Hines, who directed Meg Ryan in “Serious Moonlight,” says she has no problem with older Hollywood stars getting cosmetic surgery.
“If it makes you happy, do it. I don’t care. Whatever works,” says Hines.

Now we’re putting that question to you…

Pantyhose with sandals “Hi there G.G.’s!

I’d love to know what you think about the whole tights/pantyhose/knee high dilemma. When is a woman too old to wear tights, as in black, opaque tights or colored opaque tights? If she is too old for tights, do you recommend
pantyhose? To me these just look dated and frumpy. What’s the solution?”

Is cleavage ok after 40? How low is too low? What is age appropriate when trying to dress and be a little sexy when you are over 40?

We ran this photo of a lovely woman in her late 40′s recently, wearing this overall conservative outfit, except the blouse was low cut.

In the comment section, one of our readers wrote in, “Can you please address the question, how low can you go when it comes to dressing after 40?”…

Turtleneck “Hello ladies,

I have a question about turtlenecks:

They used to be my go-to item – especially in black. I would wear one practically every day in the winter. Well, now that I am 42, they don’t look so hot on me at all. I feel like they highlight that little bit of loose skin right
under my chin and cheeks that you can barely see otherwise. When I see other women I think this about them too, yet everyone still wears them. Is it one of those things that you just suck up and still wear as you get older even though it doesn’t look so hot?…”

Sophia Loren at the Academy Awards They were Fabulous After 40 on the red carpet last night at the 2009 Academy Awards Show!

We saw plenty of unattractive, trendy, mermaid style strapless dresses on the younger gals, but it was the classic and elegant gowns that Hollywood’s “seasoned” stars wore that made us want to stand up and cheer!

What a year it was. I did also enjoy hearing about the weight loss journey. The podcast motivated me to get up and start moving. I also liked the Meg Ryan cosmetic surgery debate. She is beautiful and I have always liked her. I was a bit disappointed post surgery but as time has gone by I think she looks better. Maybe she had a re-touch?? Who knows any who, She is my fav.

    You always have great posts.

  6. Hi Lisa,
