Professional Trainer’s Secrets to a Fab After 40 Body….FREE!
You may remember our friend Jill Knapp, who lost 100 lbs and entered a beauty pageant at the age of 40. Jill was kind enough to share her inspiring story with us in our last teleseminar, and helped motivate us to “get up and get moving!”
But motivation will only get us so far. How do we actually go about shedding that midlife bulge? That’s where a personal trainer comes in!
We asked our friend, fitness trainer Lisa Crisalle, if she would share with us some tips and techniques that women over 40 need in their regimen to keep them on track to a healthier, fitter lifestyle. Lisa, herself, underwent a lifestyle transformation that made her an award-winning Figure Competitor… at age 45! She has developed the program Over 40, Fit & Fabulous, which helps women over 40 work towards their fitness goals. In her program, Lisa breaks down mental barriers and provides her clients with the best workout and nutrition strategies to achieve their best bodies.

Here’s what she had to say:

will this be a podcast? I wont make it live but i would love to listen.

how do I hear this teleseminar?
All the discussions about fitness seem so hopeless when you are my age: 61. I was a dancer and athlete. Now I have not an ounce of testosterone in my body (16 years past menopause), which is the magic ingredient necessary to firm and tone muscles. No amount of exercise produces visable results (internal fitness – circulation, heart fitness, etc is the only real benefit. It is very discouraging to diet and exercise when results are so fleeting). Can you give encouragement to those of us baby boomers who never seem to actually see the results of our hard work? (PS: I am 5’5″, 124 pounds, size 6, but my shape is changing – more around the middle.)
Hi Rena,
Please do not give up! No matter what! Even though your concern is valid that the effects of exercise might not be as visible on the outside as you would like, it is def. worth doing!! You say “diet” but really are you just eating healthy? That is important. We are not fitness gurus but you can check in with us every Monday for our Fashion Flash where we get great tips from our friend Shawna from Female Fat Loss After Forty.
Both of us Glam Gals eat clean diets and do exercise on a regular basis… it feels good and keeps us looking Fab in our clothes!
P.S. From your description you sound like you are in good shape. Yes our bodies are shifting but after all we are not 18 anymore and have to just keep what we got looking as good as we can. Smile and don’t be so hard on yourself! Take some of our fashion advice and go out and find something colorful that you love and adore or get a plan to grow or cut your hair. Change is good! You will surely get a compliment or two and feel much better! Dress what you got the best way you can…Don’t give up> It’s time to Tweak Your Chic! (check out our e-book The Glam Plan for a step by step plan!)
Did the lady showed here have an interview I can listen too? Someone told me to come to your site to listen to the story about a lady that has diabetes but lost 100 pounds.
