When you live in Canada a parka is a must, and every few years I go out and buy myself a new one. They’re puffy, they warm, but I’ve never really thought of them as fashion forward or anywhere near sexy, until this year. Have a look at my new Mackage parka!
I was shopping at Nordstrom when this sleek, luxurious looking parka caught my eye.
At first I was drawn to the stunning color that was like no other I had ever seen in a puffy jacket. In the past, I’ve had navy, black, and brown parkas, but this shade was so rich and regal looking that it popped off the rack.
Then there’s the style. This beautiful parka is nice and long. It covers my bottom which is what I need in January/February when it’s freezing and windy out!
It’s quilted like some of the more high end parka brands, but I’ve never seen a parka as super sleek and fitted as this one. When I first tried it on, it felt a little weird to have what is typically a bulky kind of coat feeling as snug as a pair of skinny jeans, but when I looked in the mirror I was in love.
No wonder stars like Halle Berry, the Kardashians and other Hollywood Elite wear Mackage parkas. Talk about luxurious, fashion forward and slimming. This coat gives me curves and more. Plus, I love the leather trim on the front coat zipper and pockets. It’s that kind of lovely detail that really makes this coat so special.
Of course, the other big selling point about this jacket is the incredible fur trimmed hood. It’s not your average floppy hood. Somehow they have constructed this hood to stand up a little on its own so it frames your face even when it is lying flat. It’s like you have this gorgeous ring of fur around your face, like a round picture frame. It’s quite dramatic, and oh so chic.
I’m crazy about my new parka. It feels so modern, hip and a little bit sexy too. And it was exciting to find out that this is a Canadian brand.
Mackage has a lot of beautiful styles and colors to choose from that will not only keep you cozy, but will leave you feeling like a runway model too! Check out a few more of my favorites Mackage coats here.
