Hi Ladies,
Love your blog and was wondering what fall trends will work for Plus Size Gals? We love fashion too.
Thanks, Carole
Hi Carol,
Great question, since so many gals out there are are on the curvy side, especially after 40. We went shopping for you and here’s what we found.
| Cozy up to a Cashmere:
We’re seeing these draped sweater coats all over the place in fine knits and cashmere! They’re just gorgeous and work well for plus size gals for 3 reasons: the soft knit curves with your body, the gentle fold up top draws attention to your face ( and away from your tummy), and the length of this sweater creates a long, lean line that makes you look slimmer. This gal has a white top and black pants on. For an even more slimming look try wearing this red sweater with a column of color underneath. ie: black pants and black top. (Saks) |

| Everything is coming up Rosettes :
This Rosette detailing is a very hot trend and what a wonderful way to showcase it. Love how the it takes this basic shift from professional to professional, but pretty! The Rosettes are a subtle detail that makes this dress fabulous for the office or almost any event you had in mind. We also adore this smokey shade of gray. It has so much more depth than a lot of the grays we’ve been seeing out there.(Nordstrom)

| A Pretty Blouse goes with Everything:
Monochromatic dressing, or all one color is a great way to look slim and tall, but it can be boring. Not with this blouse by Anne Klein. Although it had a few colors in it, it is subtle enough in color and pattern that it reads gray, and therefore creates a slimming effect. The hanging tie neckline also adds creates the illusion of taller and leaner. (Nordstrom) |

Every woman needs a good pair of pants!
These are a great option for the fuller figured woman. The medium low wide waistband (vs. a high thin waistband) is a great way to minimize your tummy. The bootleg style is just wide enough to balance out your hips. Too narrow or too wide a leg and you will look bigger in the hips.(Nordstrom) |

Little touches of Leopard
If you haven’t bought anything leopard yet, you need to go out and buy something, but just a little something like this pretty t-shirt that looks so beautiful underneath this romantic mocha jacket. Any more leopard or animal print and you’d start to look costume-like. (Nordstrom)

| Gray is Great:
Gray is the hot new neutral for fall, but it can be tricky to wear because it washes some women out. The trick is to wear it mixed in with bright shades, especially up top. This is a super blouse for gals with a few extra pounds because of the gentle cut and wonderful neckline which puts all the emphasis on the face. (Nordstrom) |

Mad Men’s “Joanie” is the ultimate example of a full figured woman who knows what she has and knows how to work it.
Her ladylike, sexy style makes everyone take note, including today’s designers who are popping out copycat versions
of her clothing. If you want to knock’em dead, this dress >> will do it . (Saks)
Linen, it’s such a great fabric. It’s all natural, breathable and cool, but the thought of looking wrinkled in it has given it a bad rap!

This Age-mazing woman is looking classy and feeling comfortable her linen outfit
Have you ever thought to yourself, “I’d love to wear linen but I can’t because it wrinkles so much.” We spotted this Age-Mazing© woman, Stacey Inglis at the airport recently traveling with her daughter and could not take our eyes off her. Wow… in the sea of hurried travelers this woman was looking radiant in what seemed to be a linen outfit. Could this be? We stopped her for a quick chat!
Stacey, do you wear linen often?
Yes! I have had this jacket for several years and it’s one of my favorites!
Where did you get it?
It’s an Anne Klein…so probably at Macy’s.
What about your skirt and blouse and shoes?
The skirt is Carole Little and this blouse came from Express! (the blouse is a halter wrap around, so you you don’t have to tuck it in!)
The shoes are Via Spiga…they are so comfortable!!!

Your necklace really makes your outfit! Is there a story behind it?
LOL… Well I just bought it on my trip and the funny thing is, I was reading Cosmopolitan Magazine on the plane just now, and here it is featured on page 65!
Oh my… is that a Lalique bracelet?
Well, I love Paris and last time I went I treated myself to one special thing… you know this bracelet probably cost more than my entire outfit, but I like to mix things up!

Lalique bracelet...a treat from Paris
One last question, do you always dress nice like this?
You know, I find that it is just as easy to put on something like this on than a pair of jeans, and I’m actually more comfortable. You don’t have to spend a lot on clothes to look nice!
Well you look terrific!
So ladies… the proof is in the pictures! By injecting some linen and wonderful accessories into your wardrobe, you may be a little wrinkled but you can still look FAB!
Saw some great sexy, very wearable Anne Klein clothes at a recent fashion show at Verity in Toronto and wanted to share the pictures with you for inspiration.
Here’s what was coming down the runway for Fall/Winter 2008. << Isn’t this sweater darling?
Grey definitely seems to
be the color of the season! Notice the hat>>
We wrote about this kind of hat in our last newsletter>

Always love a simple sheath! Also, gloves everywhere.

Grey can be hard to wear if you are warm skin toned, but you could pair grey pants or a grey skirt with a purple jacket like this. >>
I (Deb) bought this purple jacket>>>
Brown was also hot and we love this coppery shade of brown, below. Big jewels are also in.

Here’s a trench with a similar finish. Nice for the holidays.
These are beautiful, no nonsense clothes that make you look look fab.As the late Anne Klein, herself, neatly put it, “Clothes won’t change the world. The women who wear them will”.
