Now here is a something that will definitely get your taste buds watering…

This weeks Blogging Boomers Carnival has a story on what it was like to spend the night at a chocolate factory…YUM!

Our host, Laura Lee Carter has this sweet treat and others over at her blog, The Midlife Crisis Queen~

Do you remember Elvira?

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark

Another week has already flown by and so as usual we are sharing with you  some great, up to the moment posts from our friendly group of blogging “Boomers”.  The Blogging Boomers Carnival is an eclectic group of bloggers who write on a variety of interesting topics that we think you will certainly enjoy!

This weeks host is The Midlife Crisis Queen, (aka)Laura Lee Carter.  As I was checking out all the different topics, I (JoJami) was super surprised because as it turns out… one of the links is to the now, 59 year old Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Do you remember her? That woman who dressed up like the bride of Frankenstein and introduced us to scary movies!!

Well, it is a small world because this week Elvira has picked the best of the worst horror movies..and much to my own horror… Killer Shrews was at the top of her list! It just so happens that my father, James Best,  starred in that old flick~it was one of his early movies!  While that movie never shot my father to fame, you might have actually seen him as Rosco P. Coletrane on the Dukes of Hazzard! He is a terrific actor and has appeared in over 80 films and lots of other tv shows!

Yup, that my father, James Best with Flash, on the Dukes of Hazard

So, if you want to see the rest of Elvira’s the list, head on over to this weeks Carnival and feel free to leave your comments!!

Here we are at a recent book signing event, his new book is titled, Best in Hollywood

Purse Knock-offs in New York City

fake-handbags

NYC, Cannal Street

Would you go to NYC and buy a “knock off” designer handbag?

We don’t think it’s a good thing to do, but we have friends who couldn’t resist the temptation and ended up buying a knock-off or two for themselves, or their teenage daughter who was dying to own a Coach or Gucci bag.  These brands are being copied and sold  on the “infamous”  Cannal Street in New York  City . Recently, the NYC cops have been cracking down on these “knock off” vendors.

To read about a first hand experience on of our  Blogging Boomer friends had, and to read other Boomer related lifestyle stories, check  out  the Midlife Crisis Queen. She’s the host of this week’s Blogging Boomers Carnival!
