Blogging Boomer #83: Are you dressing too young?

This week’s Blogging Boomer’s Carnival (a collection of some of the best boomer blogs on the net), has an eye opening post about dressing age appropriately.

Fellow blogger, “The Midlife crisis queen” writes about a woman who started dressing like her teenager because of her midlife crisis.

Carved in Sand-Midlife Memory Fade

carved-in-sand How’s a gal to look fabulous after 40 if you can’t remember the name of your favourite shade of lipstick, where you put your sunglasses, or where the darn car keys are as you stand at the door ready to go shopping?

Can you relate? It’s frustrating, isn’t it…not to mention embarrassing and pretty darn scary. Once middle age arrives, so does the forgetfulness. How do you know if you are normal or if you are losing your mind?

Investigative Journalist Cathryn Jakobson Ramin wondered the same thing when she began to struggle with her memory in her early 40′s, so set out on a 3 year quest to restore and enhance her cognitive function by by interviewing doctors, scientists and hundreds of other mid-lifers about their experiences.

Her findings are part of a new book called Carved in Sand:When Attention Fails and Memory Fades in Midlife. JoJami interviewed her about all she went through. Just click here to listen to our podcast.

Also, if you want to take a quick quiz to see how much you know about keeping your brain in shape check out Cathryn’s Website – Now, what was the name of that??? Oh let me think… I remember now… Carved in Sand.
