Look Young: Don’t eat Sugar
We all know that too much chocolate and greasy foods can make a mess of your skin, but did you know that sugar can speed up aging?

According to an article we just read called “How What You Eat and Drink Affects your Skin,” eating refined carbs like white bread, rather than whole grains, causes blood sugar spikes that leads to glycation (sugar breaking down). When sugar breaks down it bonds with protein molecules which reduces the elasticity of the collagen and leads to tough wrinkled skin.
I guess that means no more cookie binges for us! However, on a good note, bring on the Green Tea and Red Wine…..
“Wrinkles are caused by a loss of three things: collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Green tea, red wine and water can help increase the levels of thee three substances.” 2-4 cups of green tea a day is recommended as well as 8 glasses of water a day, and red wine in moderation.
