Whether you are dressing for a fancy occasion or for a casual day out, stylish clothes for women over 40 will set you apart from the others. This week’s readers sent me photos taken during special celebrations, casual Fridays at the office, and everyday outings. Take a look!
Nikki, 51, and her husband recently returned from a cruise. She sent us a picture of the two of them enjoying an “elegant night” in the dining room. Nikki is wearing one of spring’s hottest trends, the cut-out dress. For a more conservative look in evening party dresses for women, try a dress like Nikki’s with the cut-outs by the arms rather than by the midrift. Very classy, Nikki!
If your office offers “casual Fridays”, take advantage of them! But keep your casual look professional and pulled together. Barbi keeps her look on target with a pair of colored denim and a blazer. This is one of Barbi’s favorite casual career-wear outfits. While it’s in line with the casual theme, it also says, “I mean business”. Barbi is sure to score some points in the office in that outfit!
Comfort and Simplicity
Jeans and a tee are the comfort foods of fashion. They are feel-good clothes, but they should also look good. And that means no baggy jeans and sloppy tees. Fashion blogger Morgann who blogs at Glitter in the Grey, adores a good t-shirt and jeans.
Morgann believes that, “basic jeans and a tee have evolved into something so much more while maintaining their comfort & simplicity.” Morgann’s cropped yellow skinnies paired with a scarf tee from Cabi give her a fresh but familiar look. Another hot spring trend, zesty yellow is the perfect contrast to her muted top. A winning combination, Morgann!
I would love to meet more of you FAB Ladies. Don’t be shy! Please send in your photo, your age, where you are from, and any details about your outfit to: [email protected] . You’ll be featured on the Facebook page as well as in an upcoming What I Wore. I love hearing from you and cheering you on, Glam Gals!
