Sitting for hours on a plane can be tiring and uncomfortable. How can you dress to make it more pleasant? Here are 2 cute outfits to make a long flight more comfy and relaxing.
1. Stretchy Jeans and a Cozy Wrap
Recently, I was interviewed about the one favorite thing I can’t travel without. When I fly, I always take a cozy cashmere wrap . Not only can I snuggle up in it, but it comes in very handy for other reasons too. Read all about my favorite long-haul travel item.
The other thing that’s important to me is that my pants don’t feel tight or itchy. If I’m wearing jeans, I make sure they have lots of built- in stretch. This makes all the difference in the world when you are sitting for long periods.
Flat shoes are a must for travel! (Why do they make you walk for miles in airport terminals?) I like a simple, light ballet flat that I can easily slip on and off at security, or change into on the plane. I always switch from shoes to big fuzzy socks, once I board, so my feet feel relaxed and warm.
It always seems like I end up carrying a lot of stuff, such as: magazines, the whole family’s passports, snacks for the plane, tissue for spills, etc. etc. That’s why I like a big bag. A simple, colorful tote solves all my travel problems.
2. Comfy Leggings and a Long Sleeved Sweater
Sometimes I’ll go a step further when I travel by plane, and I wear leggings instead of jeans You can’t get any more comfy than leggings unless you wear pajamas! Try medium-weight black Ponte leggings with a nice, long sweater. Asymmetrical tops are modern and look really great with leggings. Don’t forget a scarf for around your neck. It adds to the cool factor and it can be used for many things, just like a cashmere wrap.
Low suede boots are a good alternative to flat shoes once the very cold weather arrives. Don’t forget to bring a simple bag, a little larger than you’d normally carry, as there’s always a few special items you’ll want to keep close.
What do you like to wear on a long flight? Let me know.
