Window Shopping for a Spring/Summer Dress
No wonder stores spend tons of money on fixing up the windows and always changing things around!
While out touring around today down in the Florida Keys, I had the urge to update my summer dress wardrobe.
Since I had that on my mind, when walking by the local Banana Republic I saw this cute little flowered dress in the window. I don’t usually go for prints, but this one really caught my eye and I knew I already had shoes that would work with it, so I went in a slipped it on.
It fit perfectly and they were having a special 30% off all regular priced items! It is super lightweight and will be nice to layer when I need too. I can wear it with flats for daytime and with a wedge-heel for out to dinner.
Here are few things that I like about it:
- The straps are thicker and not too skinny, that makes it more flattering and age-appropriate
- The length hit me at a good point. not too short not too long
- Most of my older sundresses are more a-line, I like the cut of this dress it is little more fitted than my others.
- The flowered print is what they are showing for Spring, so I thought I would try it!
- The gathering at the neck is plenty of decoration, no necklace needed
So have you updated your sundress wardrobe yet this season?
I tried to find it on their website, but it’s not up yet, so I will update this post when it becomes available.

What a gorgeous sundress. What suggestions do you have for the 2012 summer season ?
Love the sundress, and it is a perfect length. So many dress are too short.
Hi Glam Gal Deborah!!! LOL… I loved your post and the fact that we were shopping the same store at the same time…wished we lived closer!!!!!
Also, I was so glad you mentioned about trying on the frilly stuff and saying “NO!” to the temptation of buying it, just because it is in style.
I had the same experience, I tried on a really cute pull on skirt that had a few tiny ruffles on it, but had to put it back…just looked too young.
It’s hard to have to admit sometimes that we have to grow up, but when we buy the right things, I always feel good when I go out. You can’t force “cute” when you are getting older! Love your new casual work at home outfit! It has beautiful color and you can run out at a moments notice and look pulled together and lovely! ~JoJami
Glam Gal JoJami, It’s Glam Gal Deborah here. Did I get a smile when woke up and saw your post this morning. I tried on the exact same dress dress at Banana Republic here in Toronto, yesterday and thought it was so darling, but didn’t buy it because they were out of my size. Just goes to show that Glam Gals think alike!!
What I did end up with was two pairs of their sateen cropped pants and a cute bright peach scoop neck t-shirt and scarf. They do have some good basics, although a lot of the frilly tops they are showing are too young and girly for my style.
