FALL & WINTER

10 Key Fall Fashion Trends That Everyone is Loving!

As with all new trends, there are some that feel a bit kooky (hello feather high heels, and neon green purses), and some that are very cool. Here are 10 key fall fashion trends that everyone is loving because they are ageless and easy to weave into your current wardrobe.

1.  Belted Jackets

A great jacket is a wonderful way to give a mature body more shape and definition. This fall, designers have taken things one step further by showing belted blazers. This is a fabulous look because a wide belt like this highlights the waist (or helps to create one if yours has gone a bit midlife-middle). Plus this kind of jacket looks very new and different, which is so nice for a change.

Satin camisoles are popular, and you can wear one of these under a jacket like this, or if you prefer, throw on a shirt or round neck top.  Plaid is one of the hot 2019 fall fashion trends that adds a professional presence to a pair of casual jeans. This would also be a great look for Casual Fridays at work.

2.  Suede Mule Loafers

Luxurious looking open back loafers like these chic suede mules can totally elevate any pair of pants. I love the relaxed, loungy vibe of a pair of flats like this, that are almost like high-end slippers. These come in black, but fashion-forward gals are choosing jewel tones like this stunning gold, which almost has a regal look.  These shoes pair well with all the plaid cropped pants we’re seeing this fall, as well as your favorite jeans.  Slide a pair on and feel comfy and classy.

3.  Animal Print Anything

Edgy animal prints have been uncaged this fall! You’ll find fashionistas roaming around in Leopard, Cheetah, and other big cat prints from dresses to pants, tops, and more. This cute leopard denim jacket is just one example of many classic casual pieces that have been updated in this exciting print. Wear it with black jeans or a black dress to make it roar.  It’s super versatile and will work with everything this fall.

4.  Jewel Tones

Rich, deep jewel tones, including in the most elegant shades, look stunning as a statement piece or mixed with a print. This gorgeous long sleeve v-neck blouse draws you in and makes you look twice, plus it happens to be a fantastic staple that you can mix and match with your entire wardrobe.

5. Satin Dresses

Time to turn up the shine this fall because Satin has stepped into the fashion spotlight. This gorgeous satin crepe twist-front dress is an absolute stunner. It’s got a classic, flattering figure cut, it’s a beautiful color, and the Satin makes it on-trend. This would be a great dress for a wedding or any special occasion. It’s no fuss, but glam all the way!

6.  Capes

One of the easiest ways to look casually chic is to add a cape or poncho to your fall wardrobe. This earthy wrap shawl poncho cape is cozy and classy and will turn the most everyday outfit into something with real pizzazz. Check out all fantastic colors this comes in!

7.  Batwing Sweaters

It’s Batwoman to the rescue this fall, or should I say Bat sleeve woman. (LOL!) Full, flowy batwing sleeves are all the rage and make for some pretty exciting statement sweaters. This lovely taupe crocheted sweater with the puffy batwing sleeves looks super feminine and artsy too.

Pair it with a smart clutch ( a strappy purse won’t work with the sleeves), and head off to a night out with friends or dinner and a movie with your hubby. You’ll look and feel fab!

8.  Midi Dresses

Have you noticed that hemlines are dropping? Below the knee is the new midi, and women of all ages love it! This beautiful dress with the nostalgic 50’s vibe has a very feminine, ladylike quality to it. I love the chic cap sleeves, belted waist, and the flowy A-line skirt.

What a great dress for so many occasions. It’s eye-catching but understated, and it will give you a terrific looking figure.

9.  Dark Florals

Bright florals on a dark background have never looked better. This floral print ruffle sleeve blouse is just one of the many beautiful moody florals we are seeing for fall and winter.  It’s so refreshing to see a top that is dark and grounded like fall, but that isn’t dreary.

The gorgeous pink flowers add excitement and life and make a pair of black pants come alive — what a cheery way to usher in the colder weather.

10.  Asymmetrical Necklines

Asymmetrical necklines have given fashion a whole new slant. This classy black and white asymmetrical neckline jumpsuit is an excellent example of one of the most creative looking fall 2019 fashion trends.  Off-kilter doesn’t have to mean off base. This classic jumpsuit looks thoroughly modern and is entirely on track for fall. Try something different. Jumpsuits are here, and they are not going away anytime soon.

Which of these fall/winter 2019 fashion trends do you like best for your 40+ lifestyle?
