A lot of you have asked me about the best way to build a fall wardrobe, and I can honestly say that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is a good place to start. Everyone is talking about this sale, and maybe you are getting a little sick of it, but the reason it is so hot right now is simply that Nordstrom is selling really GOOD FALL CLOTHES at FANTASTIC DISCOUNTS.
Currently, the sale is open to Nordstrom card holders only until July 20th. It is open to the public July 21st. when it becomes open to the public. If you want early access now, you can sign up for a Nordstrom card here. If you’d rather wait, no problem. I would suggest you visit the sale section to scan what is on sale and take notes. Then get ready to shop on July 21st. Some things will be sold out, but many will still be available, as Nordstrom does restock.
I showed you a few fall outfits I put together based on all sale items. Here are a few more. I think it always helps to see the whole outfit, rather than the individual pieces. Nothing worse than buying something, taking it home and not knowing what to do with it. Take a look.
Graphic Print Dress
This purple sheath is a gorgeous dress for a few reasons. Those mixed shades of purple make the dress simply stunning. Purple is such a regal color, and it really looks warm and rich in the fall.
Also the pattern. Do you see how all the arrows point down from the top and point up from the bottom? This arrangement of arrows creates an hourglass shape that ends up with a beautiful focus on your waist. It’s a very slimming dress, and it also looks very modern which translates into youthful. Black accessories are the way to go with this dress because they help highlight the black borders of the color block print and make the dress pop.
Bell Sleeve Sweater
Now here’s a darling sweater that’s a change from your same old, same old! These accordion bell sleeves make it really special. Not only do they flare out, but they are extra long. They go almost right to your knuckles and give this sweater a cool girl vibe. Super long sleeves might make some gals feel sloppy and not cool, so part of the secret to wearing this sweater is your mindset. You have to own the look if you know what I mean! Give it a try!
How do you like those flats? They’re from Tory Burch, and they’re really kind of cute. I like them because I’m not a huge pattern person, but all solid colors can be boring. These are a good way to introduce some print and perk up your look without getting too busy. Plus, the feminine feel of them plays so well with the flirty, feminine sleeves.
Leather Jacket and Jeans
I’ve said for a long time that a good leather jacket is a must have a piece for any wardrobe. This is a nice one. Black is tricky. It can be harsh, but this rich mahogany one is warm and flattering to aging skin.
This sleeveless cowl turtleneck would look great worn underneath. I like the waffle texture to it which adds some interest.
And how about the bag and booties? First of all, those booties are fantastic for transitional times in the year. They work in the summer and all the way into fall. The whipstitch crossbody bag works well with the suede booties and gives the look a casual, weekend feel.
Have you started planning your fall wardrobe yet? Did you buy anything from this sale? I’d love to hear about it.
