5 Spring Jackets that Should Be on Your Radar

I’ve been talking a lot about transitioning to spring and some stylish ways to do that. Most of us think in terms of cute new tops or jeans but what about getting a new spring jacket?

If you’re getting ready to shed your winter parka in favor of a lighter everyday jacket, then take a look at these 5 new spring jacket trends that really are a little different and exciting!

1.  Cute Cropped Trench

Everyone loves a great spring trench coat so why not a short, cropped trench? This must have been the thinking of designers around the world this season because these cute, classic little numbers are everywhere.

No two are alike. You find everything from a double-breasted tie sleeve cropped trench like this one I’m showing to a peplum cropped trench, bell sleeve cropped trench, and even a kimono-style cropped trench! Have a look below to shop for this trend.

2. Darling Jean Jackets

Denim jackets never go out of style because they are just so darn practical and go with everything. But that doesn’t mean a little refresh now and then isn’t in order.  For spring 2018 we’re seeing lots of relaxed-looking denim jackets in the sweetest colors and details.
This juicy Flamingo colored jean jacket is just one example.  Do you see the raw edging down the front, around the collar, and on the cuffs? This, plus the fact that it’s linen,  gives the jacket a laid-back, beachy feel that makes you feel like it’s already summer. I love this color styled this way with white jeans. It’s so soft and pretty.

3.  Embroidered Utility Jackets

Utility jackets are still going strong but with a difference. Designers have added embroidery and appliqué to give these army-inspired toppers a pretty new point of view.

If you found these jackets a little too masculine in the past, you are going to love the new ladylike edge they have going for them. This blue pinstripe utility jacket is a  nice change from khaki with a cheery floral appliqué blossoming at the shoulder ( a good way to draw the eye up and make you look. If you prefer classic army green, then check out some of the gorgeous ones below.

4.  Feminine Moto Jackets

Vroom, Vroom! Feminine moto jackets are one sexy trend that you can really get some mileage out of. This spring there are a lot of very pretty, cool moto cropped leather jackets in the prettiest pinks, lavender, soft blue, and even spring new bright red:

I think this charming blush pink moto jacket by Vince Camuto is one of my faves. It’s faux leather, like so many others but you can also find some other nice leather moto jackets in suede.  Such a nice change from a black, brown, or tan moto jacket which can look heavy come spring.

5.  Ruffled Spring Jackets

We’ve seen romantic ruffles on shirts, sweaters, and on dresses, so why not jackets? Flirt bell sleeves and peplum jackets are popular accents on spring jackets.
I love the ruffle bell sleeves on this cute khaki jacket. This jacket is a mix of rough and ready meets feminine and romantic – a darling combination. Who says you can’t look super cute when you’re doing something ordinary and every day.
