Whether you’re visiting Cape Cod, Malibu, or Miami, there’s more to a beach vacation than lying in the sun. Shopping and outdoor lunches are also a big part of the fun, and so is a cute outfit to go with it.  Here are 3 breezy beach vacation outfits that are relaxed, stylish, and comfy for surf and turf.

Walking Around the Beach

A soft, flowing maxi that you slip on over your swimsuit, or wear just as a sundress when you feel like going for a walk, is the ultimate in beach loungewear.

You’ll look and feel tranquil in this gorgeous pink-tiered sundress that is feminine and modern. Add a cute palm leaf bag, a pearly slide, and sparkly tropical earrings for an island girl look.

Shopping and Sightseeing

When you’re tired of the beach, and you want to enjoy a nice lunch on the patio, do some shopping, or go sightseeing, this monochromatic beach look is totally chic.

Start with a comfy pair of wide-leg pants. Add a similar colored top. Then pull the look together with this straw bucket hat, canvas slides, and mesh bag. A touch of gold jewelry dresses up the look.

Seaside Lunch

A simple one-and-done t-shirt dress is your best friend on vacation. I love this Lilly Pulitzer dress with its tribal print and fun pompom neckline. Light, natural accessories keep the look summery.

These studded white sandals are very versatile and will go with almost anything, while the straw tote is cute and crafty and captures the spirit of summer. Top it off with a big summer sunhat

  1. Awesome blog post! Every woman wants to feel comfortable and secure when visiting the beach or enjoying a pool party. Part of this comfort is having the right clothes and being able to either dress down or up, depending on what the situation calls for.

    1. Hi Janet, Great point about covering up those sun deprived legs! After the long winter or just using good sense and keeping out of the sun our legs can look pretty pasty in short!
A long dress can be the ticket to looking hip and comfortable!

  2. I’m never sure if I can pull off a long dress like this–I’m on the short side of 5’5″ and need to get rid of 10 pounds.

    1. Hi Susan,
Great question! Well actually 5’5 is not really that short! But to answer your question, Yes you can certainly wear a long skirt but you might want to pair it with some wedge sandals to give you some height. There are lots of comfy styles of them these days.
