Peek-a-Boo Wrap Blouse Styled 2 Ways

Many of you ask me for ideas on how to get more mileage from your wardrobe, and I’m glad you do. I love finding versatile pieces that you can dress up or dress down and wear in multiple ways.  I did that recently with a cute red cuff jacket I bought. You can see the dressy version here and the more casual version here.

To help you get the hang of two-way styling, I’m kicking off a week-long series called: 2 Ways/7 Days.  Each day for the next seven days, I’ll show you one piece styled two different ways.

First up is this beautiful blouse with the peek-a-boo cutouts at the shoulders. The soft draping and the sexy slits are so feminine!

Wrap Blouse – Dressy Look

Most times, when we talk about versatile pieces, we think of neutral basics. While that’s definitely a great way to go, a steady diet of basics can be boring. That’s why I chose this electric blue crepe blouse to show you that even pieces with a little more personality can mix well with what you’ve got. This is a great blouse that looks fantastic on most body types.

For this look, I’ve paired it with a black pencil skirt and pumps, two things that most of us have in our wardrobes. Add a gold chain tote, and this is a great office look. Now, because this particular skirt is velvet, which is often thought of as a dressier fabric, you can easily switch out the pumps for silver sandals and the tote for a glittery clutch, and you have an upscale evening look.

Wrap Blouse – Casual Look

This time I’ve taken the same blue blouse and combined it with skinny jeans and booties for a casual look. I chose warm brown booties, but black would work just as well. You can wear the jeans and top on their own or, you can add a jacket or sweater for a little extra warmth for yet another look.

If you’re not a jeans gal, you can also swap the jeans for black pants. Or white pants in the early summer. Finally, don’t forget accessories! Adding a scarf or changing accessories is another way to get even more looks.

Drop by again tomorrow and see what I’m styling in my weeklong series  2 Ways/7 Days!

  1. The blouse is beautiful but it would reveal my bra straps and strapless bras are not comfortable. Please consider and discuss the necessary underwear when using clothing with an unusual cut.
