In a world that feels like it’s coming undone, fashionistas are buttoning up! Button details are popping up on everything from blouses and sweaters to boots and purses.
Buttons add a touch of glam and a dollop of interest to your outfits. It’s easy to work a small button item into your wardrobe without feeling like you have to give this trend a giant bear hug. Here are three ways to wear the button trend this fall.
1. Update Your Booties with Buttons
Booties have been women’s go-to Fall footwear for many seasons now and for good reason. They are comfortable, practical for Fall weather, versatile in that they can be worn with pants and dresses, and cute. But just because we rely on them so much doesn’t mean we should take them for granted.
This season, not-so-basic black booties like these ones from Michael Kors are hitting the streets in a big way. The barely-there heel and textured leather make these a stylish and perfect walking boot to wear with skinny jeans and leggings while the gold-tone buttons give them a subtle update for Fall.
2. Try a Pair of Black Button Pants
If you’re like me, when you’re wondering what to wear for dinner out (or in) with friends, there’s a good chance you find yourself reaching for your trusty pair of little black pants. It’s a no-brainer to add a pretty top and away you go.
Next time, why not let your pants do more style-talking with these high-waisted ankle pants with military button detailing. They’re beautifully tailored for the price and the high waist is a godsend when it comes to controlling muffin top. Not sure about how to wear tops with high-waisted pants? 3. A Button Up Sweater Adds Personality
Without the button detail, this forest green merino wool turtleneck would be the sweater equivalent of the quiet, nice girl at the office who always volunteers to clean up the cups and paper plates at the end of a pizza lunch. Well-liked and reliable but not the first one who comes to mind when you think excitement and fun.
But just add these gold buttons and suddenly it comes to life and turns into the sweater that everyone notices and wants to get to know. This is one of my favorites!
How do you like to play the trends? A little or a lot? Let me know what you think.
