FALL & WINTER

Look Aspen Chic in Patterened Knits

You don’t need to be a skier to look like one this fall.  Aspen Chic is the latest way to dress casually, both on and off the slopes.

The key pieces in this cozy, athletic look are chunky, patterned knits. There are plenty to choose from.

Be on the lookout for argyle sweaters, fair isle prints, cable knits and nordic woolens that make you feel like curling up in front of a roaring fire.

Here’s a few styling tips to keep in mind so you keep the look cool and current and not kitschy.

It’s all About Texture –Nubby, fuzzy, chunky, furry are all great words to describe your ideal sweater this fall. The best patterned knits are playful and fun to touch.

Big and Long – Long sweaters and oversized “boyfriend” knits make these ski lifestyle sweaters modern and new. Turtleneck and funnel neck sweaters are also on trend. Ponchos are fabulous. Fringe is fun.

Color and Pattern – Neutrals are chic, especially shades of gray, but there’s room for splashes of brights too, if that’s more your personality. Patterns give your casual wardrobe pizzazz.

The Right Mix – Alpine-style sweaters look more edgy when worn with leather leggings, silky jogging pants, skinny jeans, maxis and short skirts.

Accessories that Work With It – Woolen hats, giant infinity scarves, fur and shearling complement this style. A faux fur vest is a fabulous accessory. Booties give the look sex appeal. Here’s a few cute sweaters out there now.
