Tired of pants and don’t want to wear shorts? My reader Donna has the solution. The easiest thing to wear to beat the heat and look cute is a feminine summer dress. Take a look.
This is a knockout. When Donna was invited to a wedding, she chose this beautiful orange cocktail dress with a sexy keyhole neckline. Donna’s bone colored, T-strap high heels are very classy and have the studs give it a modern edge. I love the way the gold studs on the shoes mirror the gold hardware on the dress. Gorgeous choice!
Pretty as a Peacock
If you want a dress that with a sporty, natural vibe then a tank style t-shirt dress is the way to go. Not only is it casual and comfy, but it is also super figure flattering. So, if you have been working out and wanted to show your figure off, this is the dress to do it in.
Don’t you love the pretty peacock print? I think it gives something very simple a big WOW factor. Metallic shoes and some classy silver jewelry also help to dress it up. The look was perfect for a casual dinner date Donna had with her husband on an outdoor patio in her home state of New Jersey.
The hottest print of the season is definitely florals, and it’s lovely to see so many of my readers embracing this trend. Ana looks fresh and feminine in a pretty floral dress that is perfectly accessorized with a skinny belt and red accessories.
Ana, one of our regular contributors, always looks beautiful. If you feel inspired by her fabulous style take a closer look at this She’s Got The Look profile we recently did.
New York Style
Next up is New Yorker Carina who loves wearing this summery halter dress on scorching hot days.
The 48 year old stay-at-home moms says it’s her favorite because, “it’s comfy, sweet, and a little bit sexy”. Love the hat and the over-sized sunglasses.
You’ll look cute strolling around in the Big Apple!
Royal in Blue
Doesn’t this color look stunning with her gorgeous winter coloring?
Sara’s sheer skirt combined with this pretty lace wrap top would make anybody feel like a Queen. I love her choice of jewelry which really finishes off the outfit. You look regal, Sara!
A Feminine Masterpiece
When Anne couldn’t find the perfect dress for a destination wedding in Barbados, she decided to create one. Anne’s vision was a 1940’s-era dress that exemplified Hollywood glamour but would not compete with the bride.
To create a layered effect, Anne used several layers of charmeuse for the skirt and bodice, and finished off the hem of the skirt with a lettuce edge. This silk georgette dress with large concentric dots in soft shades of yellow and blue creates a feminine silhouette that’s perfect for a beach wedding.
You are quite the wedding belle, Anne.
It’s All in the Feminine Details
Grab an artsy dress, lacy tights, rouge lips, and a marvelous pair of heels and you’ve got a look that’s bold, daring, and original.
I find there’s something kind of art deco – Great Gatsby-ish about this outfit – don’t you think?
You’re a pretty gal and sure to stand out in a crowd in this unique look, Deanna. Have Fun!
The Lady in Red
Recently, I featured three 40+ fashion bloggers who looked lovely in red. This week it is my reader Julia’s turn to be red hot! Julia wore this pretty red print dress from Talbots to church service. Don’t you love how she mixed things up and threw in those pink shoes! Feminine and Fabulous!
Wow, this is a vibrant, happy print. My loyal reader Carina looks like she’s ready for a beach party in this cute dress worn with a wide-brimmed hat and oversized sunglasses.
Flip flops keep it casual and work well with the mini length that Carina manages to pull it off! This dress could also double as a top that you could wear with white capris leggings. You look picture perfect, Carina!
Here’s a dress that would be great for a day at the beach or a backyard BBQ.
Janet, 44, looks fab in this breezy, tropical, Tommy Bahama summer dress that she wore for Father’s Day.
I love that color with your warm hair and skin. You look great Janet!
