How I Styled My Pastel Striped Top

Visit the closet of any stylish fashionista, and you will find a striped top. It’s the perfect wardrobe staple because it’s so versatile.

You probably own a  black/ white or navy/white striped top, but now pastel stripes are trending. I recently bought this pastel striped top because I loved the sporty, feminine vibe. The peach and white combo is a modern twist.

The boatneck tee with the satin piping emphasizes my shoulders, making them look wider than they are. This magically makes my waist look smaller.

I like the 3/4 length sleeves because they cover my upper arms and any flabbiness. They also make you look energetic and youthful as if you’ve just pushed up your sleeves and you’re ready to get to work.

My striped pastel top goes perfectly with this apricot Zara tuxedo jacket I had from last season.  It plays up the stripes and looks cool and summery with my favorite Eli Tahari white cropped jeans.

Gold sandals in summer are a favorite of mine because they go with everything, and they add a touch of glam. My gold rope wedges are from Michael Kors.

This outfit works well for my casual lifestyle because it is a great combo of polished and relaxed.

  1. Fantastic outfit! The jeans look great. I’m on a mission to find great white jeans. I’m a petite four, but all the white jeans I see are too tight in the knees or too baggy all over. Even NYDJ white jeans had to go back. You and your outfit OUTSTare ANDING!

  2. Great outfit. I recently purchased adorable reversed faded skinny pants by Lily with blue and white stripes (darker on the inside and lighter on the outside), so when you cuffed them, the line at the bottom is darker, and a cute cotton peach tank, very lightweight and a bit see-through, that flows at the bottom rather than fit close to the body. I paired it with a white spaghetti strip tight tank underneath, and it is as cute as can be with silver old navy flip-flops or denim wedges. Both clothing items were snagged at Anthropologie.

  3. Beautiful outfit on you. I like pastels, and I have many of them in my wardrobe. Glad they’re making a comeback this spring!

    1. Hi Lana,
Thanks so much. I’m glad pastels are back too. For me, dressing has a lot to do with mood; some days, you feel like putting out a softer vibe. Pastels give you that. Cheers, Deb

    1. Hi Dana,
Thanks for the lovely compliment. I never thought I’d take close-ups of my toes for all of the Google to see (lol!). The nail polish is OPI- modern lady.

  4. Josephine,
Lovely to hear from you. Yes, my closet is full of peach. I’m pretty fair, but this color makes my skin glow.
    I love chicatanyage

    Thanks for visiting! Cheers, Deborah
