Polished Looks for Women Over 40

This week three, my readers sent in photos of clean, polished looks that are perfect for lunch with the girls or a night out for cocktails and dinner. Take a look at these fabulous ladies.

A Polished Sheath

Every woman needs a sheath dress in her closet. It’s a classic style you can wear anywhere and incredibly flattering on most body types.

Debbie, 61, from Wisconsin, looks stunning in this happy yellow color. Her husband tells her when she wears this dress, she “lights up his life!”  (Ahhh, that’s so sweet!)

I love how Debbie has added a thin black belt and a navy scarf with touches of gold. It emphasizes the beautiful simplicity of her dress and adds a sporty touch.

Tall Boots = Sexy

Forget plunging necklines and short hemlines. Tall boots are where it’s at when looking sexy over 40, 50, and beyond this fall.

I’ve featured Donna, a loyal reader from New Jersey, several times, and she always looks classy and age-appropriate.

Donna struggled to pair tall boots with her colorful Jean Paul Gaultier dress for a first birthday and pre-Thanksgiving party. Given the day’s cold temps, Donna says boots and tights were a definite must. So, she went with her tall Sam Edelman boots and tights, and they ended up with a wow outfit.

Donna, You look Age-Amazing. The tights bridge the gap between the dress and boots and let that stunning dress take center stage.
