Hi Deborah,
I was given a bunch of long A-line skirts I want to shorten. Which length should my skirts be to look good? I understand that long skirts are not really that fashionable right now and feel that shorter looks more modern, but I don’t want to go too short. Thanks in advance – you’ve been a great help since I discovered your site! Best regards, Sabine
Dear Sabine,
Shortening an A-line skirts to the knee or just above the knee is the best way to go. If you wear it so long that it ends at the middle of your calf it is going to age you and make your legs look wide and chunky.
Just be careful not to go too far above the knee, because if you are wearing an A-line skirt it will look too poufy, and too long shortens your body, and looks rather dowdy. I saw this woman at a market recently who looked great.
A casual pencil skirt is another summer skirt option. It’s a little more sporty so you can go a tad shorter if you have great legs. This woman above looks really cute.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often. I think we should exchange links. I am already linking to you.
