Here’s one thing I do not like about shopping- trying on clothes. Those cramped dressing rooms, the horrible lighting, and salespeople pressuring you to buy something you not sure looks that great on you.
That’s why when I heard about Stitchfix I got excited. Stitchfix is a great new service that lets you shop and try on clothes that have been hand-picked for you, right in your own home. It works like this.
Clothes are Hand Picked for you
You fill out a personal profile about your budget, taste, and lifestyle. Stitchfix has trained stylists who hand select a collection of 5 items based on this profile and courier them to you. You get a nice surprise at your doorstep each month, and you get to try clothes at your leisure with no stress or hassle.
Within three days of receiving your shipment, simply return those items you do not want and pay for only the items that you keep.
Give Feedback to Tailor Your Next Order
When you return items, you have the option of providing feedback so that your personal stylist can target the pieces you want to add to your wardrobe rather than include items you’re likely never to wear. Each shipment from Stitch Fix is unique and tailored to your personal profile. Your personal stylist chooses both apparel and accessories to put together a look that is just right for you. When your package arrives, it includes styling tips for how to wear each piece.
Control How Often You Want to get Shipments
You control the frequency of your shipments by either setting up an auto-ship program or by selecting specific dates for shipments. You can update your shipping preferences at any time based on your individual style needs.
What does Stitchfix cost?
Sounds expensive, right? For each shipment, you incur a $20 styling fee. If you choose to keep any items in your shipment, the styling fee is applied towards the cost of the items you keep. However, if you choose to return all items in your shipment, you will be charged the styling fee.
The average cost for a Stitch Fix item is $55. Stitch Fix carries items in a wide range of price points, and when you purchase your entire shipment, a 25% discount is applied.
Currently, this service is available only in the U.S., so I haven’t tried it out myself yet, but my U.S. friends love it!!! They say it makes looking fabulous easy, and the best part is the surprise package each month is such a treat that it gives you a lift.
Isn’t it time to give Stitch Fix a try? Let me know how it works out for you!
