A few days ago, I wrote about the new silhouette known as controlled volume and gave you some ideas for how to take it from runway to reality. However, just because you’ve reached a certain age doesn’t mean you need to play it safe when it comes to fashion!
If you’re the type who like to look bold, and powerful, but not too intimidating, you might want to try a more advanced version of controlled volume; the look fashion insiders are calling the look of the decade.
Here are some ideas for those of you who enjoy looking more dramatic.
Trapeze tops and blocked heels are both examples of controlled volume; they aren’t the most theatrical incarnations of this look. Culottes, which are wide-legged, cropped pants, are a super creative new look and are a great example of controlled volume. Exaggerated tapered pants are another option for the avant-garde fashionista, and pants that swoop out from the hip and then taper tightly at the ankle, with a dropped crotch, make a big fashion statement.
