4 Trendy, Affordable Winter Coats (& outfits to go with them!)

Updating your winter coat doesn’t mean having to decide on just one. Today I’m partnering with Walmart to bring you four trendy coats that are all cute and very affordable. Here’s a look at these popular winter styles and what to wear with them.

1. Faux Fur

Walmart has a great selection of fashionable winter coats this year; that is something for everyone. My favorites are from one of their popular house brands, Scoop, which I find fresh and modern. One the best I’ve found is this show-stopping coat that is perfect for classic types who like a creative twist.

Faux Fur coats like this are having a moment. There’s no indication of trying to imitate a real animal here! Instead, this gorgeous faux shearling jacket is artsy and original. I love the simple robe cut that makes the coat look warm and cozy, and the rolled shawl collar that is so soft and feminine.

Styling a vibrant coat like this is easy. Just add neutrals to keep this gorgeous green center stage. This sophisticated mock with princess sleeves and pretty pearl buttons is feminine and romantic. It does a great job of dressing up these comfy black joggers. Chunky suede Chelsea boots with a lug sole enhance the modern vibe. You have to love that beanie, too – super cute and very calm right now.

2. Bomber Jacket

One of the most popular jackets this fall is the classic bomber jacket. Walmart has this fabulous black suede with a wide collar and fluffy shearling. I like this cozy coat paired with a crew or turtleneck and this great pair of high-waisted, wide-leg jeans with a  sporty, wide cuff. You can uplevel this look by adding classic chain mules, an elegant structured bag, and this funky hat. Make the look your own and have fun with it.

3. Bright Puffer

Have you heard the term dopamine dressing? It’s all about bright, bold, electric colors this fall, and one way they are showing up is as puffer coats. A snuggly puffer is a must-have these days, so why not make yours eye-catching? Walmart has all kinds of fabulous-looking, brightly colored puffers in hot pink, red, yellow, and this deep, bold blue.

This color is fun, but it can also look sophisticated when paired with black leggings and taupe accessories. Furry shearling hiking boots are the perfect complement to this wintry outdoor outfit. The neutral color block sweater keeps the look balanced and classy.

4. Colored Leather Moto Jacket

Winter is fickle no matter where you live. Sometimes you need a heavy coat; other times, a chic leather jacket will do. Leather is always in style, but this year we see more dressy, buttery, and faux leather in more colors.

This tawny port faux leather jacket is one of my favorite finds at Walmart. The color is gorgeous (it comes in a few other lovely shades, too), and the style is classic. It looks great, from jeans and a top to a classy black knit dress and tall boots. If you don’t own a faux leather moto jacket or want one in a knock-out color, this is the jacket for you. A cute leopard print scarf and beanie add tons of personality and a bit of playfulness to a sophisticated outfit!
