Watercolor Floral Scarf for Spring

colorful scarf Deborah Boland

Whoosh!!!!!!!! Don’t you wish it was that easy to usher in Spring?  It’s March, and I don’t know how much winter we have left, but on the day we shot this it was getting pretty spring-like outside which got me very excited!

What do you wear this time of year to transition from winter into spring. It’s still darn cold, but you need something to lift your spirits, and this pretty Watercolor Scarf is the perfect solution.

Spring scarf Deborah Boland

This elegant, artistic scarf was a lovely gift from the good folks at Chico’s. The soft brushstroke watercolors take my breath away! I thought my big, bold, gold earrings were a fun touch!  I’m growing bold, not old like the new Chicos campaign says! (More about that to come. Stay tuned!)

My scarf measures 52x 52″ scarf, so it’s big and square. They are so many ways you can wear it. I like the casual feel of using it like a shawl, or just giving it a twist and throwing it around my neck to add a pretty touch of fun to a shirt or sweater.

And speaking of sweaters… this green pullover is so pretty ( and it’s on sale). I’m in love with that rich green shade. It’s not as dark as a winter forest green and not as warm and bright as a spring grass green. It’s more of a teal which makes it perfect to wear as the seasons change. See how my gorgeous floral scarf really pops against the green? It reminds me of a beautiful floral painting on a rich green canvas

My Paige high waist jeans are new, and I have to say they are super comfy, almost like leggings. They are baby soft, and I love the subtle striations that make them look just a tad distressed. It’s hard to find jeans with this kind of finish that aren’t all faded out. I prefer this dark wash. It’s so much more classy and slimming.

I just wanted to show you the detail on the sweater. Aren’t those buttons sharp? And l love that sporty little slit. It is such a lightweight, easygoing knit top, but the detail elevates to a new level.

cognac Michael kors bag

My bag is Michael Kors. I’ve been carrying it all winter, and I will probably switch to a lighter color bag soon. I notice this bag now comes in white, cream and tan and linen too, and I must say that I have enjoyed it so much, I am tempted to repurchase it in a lighter color for spring.

I’ve also moved away from my dark black booties, and I’ve stepped into lighter color booties. That’s another way to make an outfit feel more spring-like. These are from last year, but there are lots of cute light colored suede booties around.

Happy Spring, and fingers crossed we don’t get any more snow!

  1. I love your blog and your style advice that seems to cover most body types however some of us are not in a position to purchase the suggestions you give as they are too costly, also do not know where to go to purchase less expensive clothing and do not have the time to shop daily to places like winners or Marshall’s. In Canada we also do not have a Marshall’s. Any advice to how to overcome this dilemma would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Thanks Wanda, It’s nice to start shooting clothes again. The weather has been so cold, gray and dull that I stayed away. Stay tuned for more stuff! Cheers, Deborah

  2. You jinxed it, Deborah, because light snow is falling as we speak! I’m wearing full winter gear including snow boots. It is bitterly cold. I think the Ice Age is here. Sigh.
