Welcome to Fabulous After 40!


Hi, I’m Deborah, founder of Fabulous After 40.

I started Fabulous After 40 in 2006, when I was in my 40s and suddenly found that getting dressed wasn’t as easy as it used to be. My body had changed, my lifestyle had changed, and after years of working in television, I was now home raising young children. I’d open my closet and think, What am I supposed to wear now?

There weren’t many women my age talking about this back then. There were no midlife fashion influencers, no Instagram, and very few places to turn for style inspiration. It was frustrating.
I could have just given up on fashion, but I didn’t want to. I’d always loved clothes. Fashion was fun. Looking good made me feel good and gave me confidence, and why should any of that stop just because I was getting older?

Great style has no age.

So I decided to figure it out.

I took everything I knew from my years working in fashion and lifestyle television and my training as an AICI Certified Image Consultant and started looking at what really makes a difference: the right colors, the right shapes for your body, and a personal style that feels like you.

In other words, I learned how to Tweak My Chic®.

And in 2006, Fabulous After 40 was born.

And Here We Are, 20 Years Later…

What started as my own search for answers has grown into a wonderful community of women who want the same thing I did: to look modern, feel confident, have fun with fashion, and feel fabulous at every age.

I’m still figuring things out right along with you. I try the trends. Some I love, some I tweak until I find a version that works for me, and some I finally admit, Nope, this one’s just not me.

That’s part of the fun.

I want Fabulous After 40 to be the place you come when you’re wondering, Can I still wear this? How do I make this work for me? Where do I even shop anymore?

I’ll give you practical advice, show you what I’m wearing and trying, and, most importantly, tell you the truth.


Because life is too short to feel frumpy.
Confidence is the most flattering thing you can wear, and it’s never too late to be fabulous.
