Stripe Top With Eyelet Flare Sleeves

Who says you have to wait until May 24th to bring out those summer whites? Last weekend was so gorgeous here in Burlington, Ontario with the Cherry Blossoms and the warm wind blowing in off of Lake Ontario that I just felt like wearing something white, crisp, and sporty.

So here’s what I pulled out of my closet. This is my new weekend outfit…  You know, the go-to look that I throw on to feel cute and sporty. Have you got one?

I’ve always loved stripes for summer but found I had a lot of the same old, short sleeve, V-neck style ones. So when I saw this cute tee with a twist on stripes from Ann Taylor, I thought it was pretty adorable.

I’m a big fan of classic clothes with a modern twist, and this is a good example of what I mean. Look at this striped top with eyelet flare sleeves!

Big, ruffly, feminine sleeves are at a peak this summer. In a way, I almost feel like we are drowning in them, there are so many. That isn’t to say, I don’t like the look, but since I’m more of a pared-down kind of gal, I prefer something a little more tailored like this Stripe Eyelet Flare Sleeve Top. (Similar here)

It’s that “opposites attract” mix of sporty stripes and flirty, feminine sleeves that I really seem to like. And to tie it all together, I found a pair of the prettiest cropped white jeans with a summery ankle tie.

That darling sailor’s knot makes me smile.

Now can I be real about my shoes? I could have shown these white jeans with heeled sandals (high or low), but honestly, when I’m buzzing around grocery shopping, visiting my mom, and taking the dog to the vet, I’m wearing sneakers. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these!

These blue suede sneakers are from Tory Burch. I picked them up in Dallas when I was at the rewardStyle conference. That gorgeous, rich color first pulled me in, but it was how comfy and luxurious they felt that sold me. I know they look like any other slip-on sneaker,  but honestly, they are not.

They are super light, soft, and flexible compared to all the other slip-on sneakers I own, and even though I didn’t need another pair of sneakers, I couldn’t get that great feel out of my mind. So, I went back and bought them, and I’m so glad I did. ( I paid full price for these sneakers and they are on sale for 40% off now. Wouldn’t you know it?)

Anyway, I’m still happy I bought them. Super comfy, and I can’t wait to wear them on my next trip. They will be the perfect shoe for walking through airports and wearing on planes.

How do you like my pebbled leather bag? I bought this in Florida during March break. Tory Burch again. Boy, she makes great stuff! I had been eyeing it for a while and finally gave in. I love the pop of orange (orange is so sporty with navy), and the block -T look.

So there you go! I’m ready for summer. Can you see yourself in this look?
