5 Animal Print Outfits I’m Wild About This Summer!
After watching Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin battle it out in the Tiger King, it’s no wonder that animal prints are on everyone’s minds this summer. Here’s a look at some big cat clothes and other stylish wild animal fashions.
Yellow is one of my favorite colors to wear because it’s so cheery and optimistic, and I find it lights up my complexion. You usually see yellow in the spring and summer, (Remember my gorgeous yellow jacket?), not when it’s cold and snowy outside.
But look what I found!
Right in the midst of the holiday season, I picked up this cozy, vibrant yellow mock turtleneck! What a bold way to welcome in the New Year!
I’ve always been a fan of mock turtlenecks, more so than regular turtlenecks, and especially now at my age. I find that regular turtlenecks are so high and close to the neck they accentuate that little bit of chin waddle we are all starting to develop. Mock turtlenecks are a little bit looser, more relaxed, and more forgiving.
This yellow turtleneck sweater is a cute one! It’s ribbed, and fairly long so you can wear it out, tuck it in or do that trendy half tuck. It fits relatively close to the body, so it looks streamlined but is not tight. And boy, is it cozy!
Here’s a closer look at this easy-to-wear, very modern looking, yellow mock neck sweater that also comes in 9 other fabulous colors and petite sizes too!
I’ve teamed my yellow mock turtleneck up with a pair of black New American jeans for a high-contrast, high energy look. This is the first time I have worn New American, and I find them to be a great fit and very comfy. I really like the subtle black tone on tone leopard print of these jeans. They purr instead of roar!
My black velvet Gucci bag, which I’ve had for a while, always go well a leopard outfit (remember my leopard wrap dress and this purse?). The suede booties, which I have been wearing with many holiday party looks this year, including my sequin party dress, also look fabulous with this too. That gold heel is so chic.
If you have been living in white jeans all summer, and you want to transition them into fall, what can you wear with them now and in September? Here’s one cute outfit that does a great job of bridging the gap.
Animal prints over 40 can be scary. Too much leopard, and you can wind up looking like Edith Prickley. How do you tame this trend so you don’t look like you escaped from the zoo? Here are a few tips on how to wear animal prints at any age.
1. Wear Animal Prints Sparingly
A bit of animal print is sexy and chic, but too much of it will make others roar..roar with laughter. Don’t be a fashion victim. Be stingy with animal prints and live by the ONE ANIMAL RULE. What’s that? If you are wearing a leopard sweater, you don’t need a leopard purse or leopard shoes to go with it. That’s matchy-matchy overkill.
If you are new to animal prints, why not try them out by going with one chic animal print accessory? A shoe or a bag lets you ease into animal prints and will jazz up an everyday outfit.
